Ikaruga Civil War

With a permit from the Imperator, Hazama visited a laboratory that hosted Nu-13. He interrupted the scientists there who had just managed to finish the second part of her creation, and showed them his permit that would allow him to take Nu away from the area. After having slyly insulted the researchers, he was guided to the room where Nu lay, and Hazama traced his finger over her clavicle, remarking that she truly is the 13th device. He soon departed with Nu in tow.

Sometime during the civil war, Hazama was visited by Relius, who told him about the possibility of the Burning Red Grimoire being inside the Military Academy. Upon hearing this news, he travelled to the Academy. When he arrived at the cauldron of the city, he found Cypher Albar holding the Grimoire over the bodies of Shiori Kirihito and Mai Natsume. He seemingly killed Cypher, and took the Grimoire after looking down at Mai, making special note of her existence. Hazama soon left, not being found by Chachakaka when she travelled to the area later.

Variable Heart

After the war ended, Hazama found Meifang bathing and told her that he was interested in what she was transporting to the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi. She attacked him, and Terumi assaulted her. Hazama watched as Meifang, with a group of Fuzzy, battled against Jin and Mai, seeing her trying to turn herself into a Nox Nyctores. Eventually, Meifang lost, and Hazama noted that the event was generally uninteresting, but nonetheless left with Nine the Phantom.

Calamity Trigger

In the afternoon of the 30th of December, Hazama made his way into the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi on board of an Ars Magus vessel. He travelled there with Noel under the guise of being her superior for retrieving Jin, who had gone AWOL. At the Kagutsuchi Port, Hazama made Noel aware of Ragna's presence throughout the city, telling her that she could attempt to apprehend him, but that he didn't care - instead, he was to make his way to the NOL branch and continue with his "mission" to search for Jin. All the while, he was being watched by Rachel Alucard.

Around midnight at the top of the NOL branch, Hazama called Relius, telling him that all the preparations had been completed. After the call had ended, the Captain briefly spoke with Terumi, the both of them lamenting over the amount of effort they had exhausted into this timeloop. The following afternoon, Hazama saw that Jin had begun to assault Noel, and he created a smokescreen to save her from Yukianesa's fatal slashes. Having escaped, Hazama told her to not aggravate the Major, and she should wait until night when Ragna would be likely to attack the NOL branch. He entangled her in more lies before leaving her with searching for Jin again before the day ended.

Inside the Cathedral, Hazama found Noel next to Jin's unconscious body. He startled her and began to prepare arrangements for Jin to be taken on board of an Ars Magus vessel under the care of Ellen Nelson. After manipulating Noel into venturing deeper inside after Ragna, Hazama began to laugh loudly to himself. He walked deeper inside the facility, finding himself at the Sheol Gate and witnessed that Noel had broken the timeloops by saving Ragna from Nu-13 - she had become the Successor of the Azure. Hazama allowed Terumi to take over and forced Noel to Observe him. Hazama and Terumi had finally mind-melded and they left the facility after damaging it with Ouroboros and briefly fighting Iron Tager.

Continuum Shift

A soldier of the Novus Orbis Librarium belonging to the Intelligence Department. His rank is Captain. Hiding his "true self" behind a gentle demeanor, he returns to the region of Ikaruga for certain purposes of his own. As of yet, there are none who notice his secretive actions or his true plan.

Stage IV: Noel Vermillion

Noel: H-Hazama! Sir! Hazama: My my my, what have we here... Lieutenant Noel Vermillion. Looks like it's my lucky day. I actually need to have a little chat with you. Noel: Sir... Just who are you? Really? Hazama: Why. I'm Hazama. from the Novus Orbis Librarium's Intelligence Department. I think my rank is...ah...captain? Noel: Don't mess with me! Hazama: Oh. I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing. But enough about me, Lieutenant Vermillion. Let's talk about you. Weren't you told to go back to headquarters? You aren't supposed to be here, you know. Your friend, Miss First Lieutenant Tsubaki Yayoi, is gonna be real unhappy. Noel: F-First Lieu— ...Tsubaki? Hazama: Yup. Why, she's running all over Kagutsuchi looking for you. ...Looking to kill you! Noel: What!? <Hazama Victory> Noel: Ugh... Hazama: I thought there was a little light left in you... Noel: ...What did you do to Tsubaki? Hazama: Still haven't run into Miss First Lieutenant Tsubaki Yayoi, huh? Could be a problem for the life-link, but...eh. ....Whatever. She might still be useful.

Stage VIII: Lambda-11

Lambda: Target confirmed. Hazama: Oh my... And you are...? Kokonoe: ...Long time no see, Terumi! Hazama: Bastard... That you, Kokonoe? I guess that makes this the precious 11th subject. It feels like... a Nox Nyctores? ...No, not really. More mechanical... Ah, a copy. Clever... Kokonoe: ... Hazama: Wow! Still a fake, but damn... a well-made fake! You're the daughter of the great sorceress Nine, no doubt. ...Nice job... So...ah...what exactly are you doing here? Trying to build some sorta causality interference device? No, nononono! That's pointless! Might as well just give up now! Kokonoe: I've only got one question. Why did you betray my mother? Hazama: Betray? Oh, don't give me that. C'mon, it's not like the "Six Heroes" were buddies— Oh, yeah... Just the other day, I told the old man, "We're buddies, right?" Ha ha ha! Kokonoe: You... you BASTARD! I'll never forgive you! Lambda! Stage IX: Hakumen

Hazama: Whoa! Watch it! That was way too close. Hakumen: What are you plotting, Terumi? Hazama: Come on, old man. Give me a little credit... Besides...don't you already know what I'm gonna say... Jin Kisaragi!? Hakumen: ...That name has no meaning to me now. Hazama: So, how's the old shell feel? Nice and comfy, right? Hakumen: The fragments of your memory that infest it make the experience less than pleasant. Hazama: Ha ha ha ha! What a load! Like that's even possible! ...Well, then again, that was my body for quite a while. I suppose maybe something rubbed off... Hakumen: ...If I had learned of your existence sooner, perhaps this tragedy could have been avoided. Hazama: No dice, pal! This is how it had—well, has, I guess—to be... Can't turn out any other way. Not even Nine figured it out, big guy. What makes you think you could've? Hakumen: You are not meant to exist in this world. It is my duty to bring an end to you, and I will see to it... that it is fulfilled. Hazama: Ooooh, is this your first fight in 90 years? Stage X: Ragna the Bloodedge

Hazama: Hey there, kid, you're gonna hurt someone... Is that some kind of family thing? Jumping out at people and scaring the shit out of them? Ragna: Noel... Where the hell's Noel Vermillion?! Hazama: "Where"? Oh, I think you already know. I gotta say, the Azure Grimoire is quite a thing... Smelting without a Cauldron! Incredible! And now the life-link's working perfect too. I couldn't have done it without you, Mister Ragna the Bloodedge. Ragna: Oh shit...don't tell me...that's Noel...? No! Stop! Stop, you son of a bitch! Hazama: Oh, for heaven's sake, can't you just shut up? Hmm? You better watch that attitude of yours, mister. It's liable to earn you a knife in the gut from yours truly! Ragna: I don't think so, asshole! You're the one who's gonna eat it! Restriction 666 released! Dimensional interference force field deployed! Hazama: Ahahahaha! BlazBlue? That's quite a toy you got there, kiddo! How'd you do that? Sounded like... Restriction 666 released! Deploying dimensional interference force field! Ragna: Wh-What!? H-How did you... No way! AD2200/01/07 -Mirror- Terumi: Well, thanks for the entertainment... Pretty good warm-up there. Ragna: Ugh...you son of a bitch... Are you trying to resurrect the Black Beast? Terumi: The Black Beast? What the hell would I want with that failed experiment? Ragna: Failed!? Terumi: Yeah, a huge failure. Real pain in the ass to keep the Cauldron under control. But hey, we learned all sorts of shit in the process, so, you know... Ragna: ...The...Cauldron? Terumi: Yeah, the Cauldron. What, did I rumble? The Cauldron's the Grimoire's original form. It gathers the souls to smelt the sword inside it's body. That was our little pet—the Beast. Ragna: Wha-!? Terumi: C'mon, you gonna pay attention or not? The Murakumo Unit is incomplete. It needs the power of the Grimoire. The 13th sample wouldn't shut up about it, remember? But this one...this one's different. This thing embodies the TRUE Azure! Terumi: Now... Murakumo...activate! This world is nothing but lies! Terumi: Lemme show you what I like to call the truth! The truth called "despair"! In the name of Susanno'o, I command you! Murakumo, AWAKEN! Terumi: Behold the sword of the god-slayer, KUSANAGI! Terumi: Let all that lies fall before your divine blade! Terumi: Gaahahahaha! Finally, I've got the true successor to the Azure! Story Mode

After Terumi was Observed by Noel and leaving the Sheol Gate, Hazama met with Tsubaki Yayoi in his office. There, he gave the girl orders from the Imperator to assassinate Noel and Jin. After convincing the girl to carry her orders out by stating that Noel had assisted Ragna and that Jin deserted his post, Hazama asked Tsubaki to also retrieve Jin's Mucro Algesco: Yukianesa and Noel's Arcus Diabolus: Bolverk after she killed them. As she left, Hazama laughed to himself, enjoying the fact that he had just commanded her to kill both her love interest and her best friend. Relius Clover then entered his office and told him to hurry up so they could head to the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi. The two conversed, with Hazama telling Relius that μ-No.12- had inherited the Azure. The two men then departed for Kagutsuchi.

Shortly after arriving at Kagutsuchi, Hazama, along with Phantom, observed Jin escaping from the ship that he assigned him to. He ordered Phantom to ensure that Jin died by Tsubaki's, not Ragna's, hand. Soon after this, Hazama found Makoto Nanaya and Jin conversing with each other. He attacked Makoto as revenge for foiling his plans in an alternate timeline , but was parried by Jin. After a brief battle, Hazama forced the two of them to retreat, remarking that he would have to tell Tsubaki to work a bit harder. Some time after this, Hazama went to the top of the Altar, sacrificing the Praetorian Guards stationed there and using their souls to fuel the cocoon. He encountered Λ-No.11- and taunted Kokonoe through her, easily defeating her when Kokonoe commanded her to attack. He proceeded to taunt Nu's soul that was implanted in Lambda, stirring her memories of Ragna and causing her great emotional distress. He then launched Ouroboros at her with the intent to kill, but was parried by Hakumen, who had arrived with Rachel. This gave Kokonoe the opportunity needed to withdraw Lambda. Left with Hakumen and Rachel, Hazama shifted to Terumi, who activated the Blue Grimoire and easily overpowered the two with minimal effort. As Valkenhayn R. Hellsing appeared to assist the both of them, Terumi announced his intent to kill all of them, but was stopped by Phantom, which reminded him of other affairs he had to attend to. Saying that he knew what to do and frustrated about having to curb his murderous tendencies, Terumi dodged attacks from all three of them and teleported to the top of Kagutsuchi, shifting back to Hazama in the interim.

At the top of Kagutsuchi, Hazama witnessed Tsubaki letting Noel leave after a brief fight. He approached an exhausted and stressed Tsubaki, giving her words of false comfort. When Tsubaki tried to plead Jin and Noel's case, he quickly shot her down and said that the Imperator made the decisions. Hazama then proceeded to provoke feelings of envy for Noel in Tsubaki's mind by asking her why it was that she was not with Jin. He then revealed to her the truth about the world and how Noel Vermillion did not exist in the original timeline. Hazama told Tsubaki that Noel's nonexistence in the original timeline not only prevented Jin from learning about Ragna and thus abandoning his post, but also resulted in Tsubaki becoming Jin's secretary. By showing Tsubaki that Noel's existence deprived her of a happy life with Jin, Hazama was able to effectively shatter her mind and convince Tsubaki that Noel had stolen her rightful place in the world. He manipulated her, relishing in the feelings of despair, anger, and hatred that were overtaking her mind. Hazama then informed Tsubaki that Jin was at the NOL's Kagutsuchi branch and sent her after him. As she left, Hazama maniacally laughed at how, in the real world, Jin not only found out about Ragna, but Tsubaki died sacrificing herself for Jin.

Hazama then proceeded to make his way to Orient Town, where he found Litchi Faye-Ling coughing up blood behind a building. He helped her to a bench and introduced himself. In the ensuing conversation, he revealed that he not only knew about the doctor's history and reason for leaving in Sector Seven, but also the fact that she was being slowly eroded by the power of the Boundary. He then offered her to join the NOL, an offer that was quickly declined and resulted in him being asked to leave. As he prepared to leave, he mentioned to Litchi that the NOL could perhaps help save Arakune. This piqued Litchi's interest and sowed the seeds of doubt in her mind, and Hazama left shortly after Linhua arrived.

Hazama returned to the Monolith on the top floor of the NOL's Kagatsuchi branch and awaited Noel's arrival. She arrived and furiously questioned as to why Hazama gave Tsubaki the order to kill her. Hazama then proceeded to taunt her about Tsubaki, indirectly calling her a tool to be used. Filled with hatred and addressing Hazama as Yuuki Terumi, Noel attacked and declared that she would never forgive him. Hazama shifted to Terumi, who relished in Noel's hatred for him and encouraged her to kill him. During the ensuing fight, Terumi taunted Noel, revealing to her the events of the Prime Field War and her status as a Prime Field Device. Continuing despite Noel's constant cries to stop, Terumi proceeded to torment her, detailing how she was not human, but built, and that she was only made as a tool and a puppet to be used. The ensuing hatred and despair caused by the revelation and incessant taunting shattered Noel's mind and broke Bolverk's limiters on her emotions. Terumi manipulated her into the cauldron and the process to smelt her into Kusanagi began.

Easy win

Hazama took the opportunity created by the smelting of Noel into Mu-12 to create a Life Link with Noel. During this time, a shadow of Terumi proceeded to activate Mind Eater (Maledictus Plaga) on Tsubaki, who had dragged Jin into a sealed space with Izayoi in order to convince him to return with her so she would not be forced to kill him. Hazama waited at the Altar for Ragna, who arrived and demanded to know where to Noel was. Hazama swapped to Terumi and he immediately began laughing at how many times he had heard Ragna's line, relishing in finally arriving at the possibility that he had been waiting for. He then pointed out to Ragna the cocoon behind the Altar and thoroughly enjoyed Ragna's despair as he realized what was happening. Terumi then proceeded to troll Ragna by using his knowledge of the continuum shift to speak Ragna's lines as he was saying them in a mocking tone, cackling all the while. Ragna, now sufficiently provoked, attacked Terumi and activated the Azure Grimoire. Amused, Terumi activated his own Blue Grimoire, disabling Ragna's Azure Grimore. While Ragna was shocked over what Terumi had done, Terumi revealed that he was the one who created the Azure Grimoire. After mercilessly beating Ragna, Terumi explained to him that Ragna could not hope to beat him not only because Terumi possessed the Blue Grimoire, but because Ragna's hate for him was so strong that it anchored his existence to the world. As the pulsing of the cauldron intensified, Ragna asked Terumi if he planned to recreate the Black Beast. Terumi responded that he had no use for a failed experiment. He claimed that the Black Beast was the result of a cauldron going out of control when attempting to make a Kusanagi. He explained to Ragna that the purpose of Ragna's Azure Grimoire was to function as a cauldron and gather souls and Azure energy, and then fuse with a Murakumo Unit to create a Kusanagi. Terumi then explained that Noel was different from other Murakumo Units in that she did not need the Azure Grimoire to become a Kusanagi; rather, she already contained the power of the Azure by herself. He then summoned the Kusanagi, Mu-12, from the cocoon.

As she descended, Terumi taunted Ragna on her resemblance to his sister, Saya, infuriating the man. The two men then activated their Azure Grimoires, with Terumi coming out the victor yet again. After beating Ragna down, Terumi called Mu over and ordered that she kill Amaterasu. Ragna called out to her with Noel's name, causing Terumi to refer to her as a puppet, just like Ragna. Unfortunately for Terumi, Ragna did not react to this with despair or hatred, which caused him to gather that Jubei had already told Ragna this information. Frustrated at the beastkin for "stealing his thunder", Terumi then revealed to Ragna that Rachel was being held captive somewhere. Ragna then exclaimed that he made a promise to fight until the end as a human being and challenged Terumi again, saying that it was "time to play". This severely angered Terumi, who proceeded to brutally beat Ragna down for thinking he could talk to him like that, screaming for Ragna to die all the while. As Terumi launched what was supposed to be a fatal blow at Ragna, Lambda jumped in and took the blow. Annoyed that a puppet was standing in his way, Terumi launched Ouroboros at her back again and yelled at the two to die together. Terumi watched as Ragna held a dying Lambda in his arms and demanded to know why she had died for him. Annoyed at not being the focus of attention, Terumi called out to Ragna. Ragna exclaimed that he would never forgive Terumi and activated the Azure Grimoire, using the Idea Engine gained from Lambda's death to bypass the Blue Grimoire's restriction. Much to Terumi's surprise, Ragna was able to access the true Azure and soundly defeat Terumi, nearly killing him. After panicking for a short while, Terumi regained his composure and encouraged Ragna to finish the job. However, Ragna acknowledged that the life-link would make killing Terumi difficult, and so simply went on to rescue Rachel and leave Terumi to suffer as Terumi called him a chicken for doing so.

However, Ragna's decision to not kill Terumi put a hitch in Hazama's, Terumi's and Relius' plan, as Hazama being alive meant there was no way for Terumi to infiltrate Takamagahara and shut it down. Relius arrived at the Altar and found Hazama severely injured. The two improvised by having Ignis tear out Hazama's throat and kill him, allowing Terumi to incapacitate Takamagahara with Phantom's virus while the program was watching Ragna defeat Mu. Hazama then returned to life due to the life-link he had with Noel. Terumi took over and appeared before Ragna, Noel, Jin, Hakumen, and Rachel after Ragna's battle with Mu. Terumi informed them that Takamagahara was incapacitated and prepared to kill them all before being stopped by Relius, who had arrived with the Imperator, a brainwashed Tsubaki, and Litchi. The group proceeded to depart via teleportation.

Chrono Phantasma

Hazama attempted to use the Godslaying Sword "Kusanagi" to destroy the Master Unit, but Ragna stopped him. However, using that timing, he was able to succeed in seizing Takamagahara, which had been tied up. He travels to the Ikagura region having restarted his plans to destroy the Master Unit.

Arcade Mode

Stage 3: Makoto Nanaya

Hazama: Why...if it isn't Lieutenant Makoto Nanaya. Fancy running into you here... Makoto: Ugh... Captain Hazama. Hazama: Oh come now...is that really a way to greet a superior? You could at least wipe that frown off your face. ...That aside, you really do like to get yourself into trouble, now don't you...? Sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. First Sector Seven...now the House of Mutsuki? Makoto: Hmph... Hazama: Now, I already know you've been snooping around... But what caught my interest...is what Colonel Kagura is thinking. He wouldn't by any chance be trying to start a rebellion, now would he...? Frankly that might actually prove beneficial to me... Makoto: Beneficial...? No, never mind. That's not why I'm here. Captain Hazama, where is Tsubaki? Hazama: Tsubaki? Ooooh, right. First Lieutenant Tsubaki Yayoi...or is she a major now? I really can't seem to remember. But, I wonder where she is...? I've already completed my "barrier" device, so I'm actually done with her...and if she does happen to show up, it could be really...complicated. If you happen to run into her, could you let me know? I think it would be best if she...disappeared permanently. Makoto: Wh-Wha-?! Why the hell would I let you hurt any more of my friends?! Hazama: Sheesh... You've just reminded me exactly how much of a nuisance YOU can be... Perhaps you should share Tsubaki's fate. <Hazama Victory> Makoto: *Pant pant** This...isn't good. *Grunt* Hazama: Hmph...I should've expected as much from a rodent. You lot are quite good at running away. Whatever... I need to get back to my own mission.

Stage 6: Platinum the Trinity

Luna: I found you, bad guy! For Master Jubei...Luna's gonna beat the living crap out of you until you beg for mercy! You hear?! Sena: ...W-We'll beat you up...yay? Hazama: Hahahaha...my oh my... Luna: Hm...? Wh-What the... I suddenly feel so...sleepy. Sena: My mind is so...hazy... Trinity: ... Yuuki Terumi... Hazama: Well, it has been a while, now hasn't it... Platinum Alchemist? Or should I call you Trinity Glassfille now? Trinity: I've come to stop you... And ensure that your plot will fail. Hazama: Now isn't that a magnificent thought... You? Stop me? You met your bitter end without being able to prevent one thing! Yet, you think you have the means to stop ME? Trinity: I will not let you have your way... Luna, Sena...please! <Hazama Victory> Trinity: Ugh... Am...am I just not enough...? Hazama: Why you would think you could actually best me is beyond...well...me, but I'll make sure to end you peacefully this time. Just don't come back...please? Trinity: ...I...I'm sorry... Huh? Hazama: Wha-?! Teleportation... Phantom?! Tch, that bitch... She's still got a little bit of her own mind left, huh?

Stage 7: Jin Kisaragi

Hazama: Whoa now, that's some way to greet a comrade, Major Jin Kisaragi... I'm glad to see you're doing okay, too. Jin: ... Hazama: Oh, so you're going to ignore me? Now that's just cold... But man, it's been quite a while since I've come here, you know? I guess you might be feeling the same way, huh? "Hero of Ikaruga"? Jin: Hazama...give me back my memories... Hazama: Your...memories...huh? Now you're just asking for the impossible... What's been consumed can't be returned...you know? Heh heh heh heh... Jin: ...Then why don't you enlighten me...what happened here? <Hazama Victory> Jin: Gahuragh! Hazama: Hmm...I'd say you're a little better than before, but... You still have ways to go. ...Now, where were we? Hm? Oh yes, yes, right... What happened here. Oh, it really isn't something to lose your marbles over, really... You see, you were looking for this artifact called "Kushinada's Lynchpin"...by someone's orders, probably... And decided to ask Tenjo where you might find one such artifact...but he wouldn't budge... ...Killed the bastard, and asked his dead body...I think...? However that works... ...But your memories were altered and all you knew was that it's somewhere in Ikaruga. Aww... Jin: "Kushinada's Lynchpin"... Hazama: See? That REALLY wasn't a big deal, now was it? Now, I really need to be on my way...since I actually have STUFF to do, you know? Excuse me.

Stage 8: Ragna the Bloodedge

Hazama: Why, what a coinki-dink, little Raggy. Ragna: Terumi... Where's Saya...the Imperator? Hazama: How the hell am I supposed to know that? They're probably...somewhere, I'm sure? What interests me more is...the fact that YOU'RE after the Lynchpin. Ragna: That's got nothing to do with you. Hazama: Heh heh heh heh...well, "nothing" is a pretty strong word, I mean... Even if you happen to find this Lynchpin, I already KILLED the living key needed to activate it ages ago! HAHAHA. Ragna: The...living key...? Hazama: Get it? You understand now? Story Mode

Chrono Phantasma

Hazama went congratulate Tsubaki on her promotion to Major, but was dismissed by her after giving her orders from the Imperator to go to Ikaruga. As he left, he was found by Litchi. Mocking her and asking if she'd like her memories taken away by Mind Eater, Litchi rejected him, stating that she would not become like Tsubaki. When she left, Hazama was found by a different person – Relius. The Colonel assured him that Phantom would be fine, her vessel being sustained by Izanami herself.

Both Hazama and Tsubaki went to the 6th Hierarchical City of Yabiko meeting Kagura Mutsuki. He handed Kagura an imperial decree allowing both him and the Major the ability to use Kagura's resources as they acted as the will of the Imperator. The entire time, Hazama coldly addressed the Colonel, so Tsubaki reminded him of his place. As the two of them left Kagura, Hazama asked the Colonel how his cat was doing, letting him subtly know that he knew Kokonoe was in Yabiko's NOL branch. Hazama watched as Ragna battled Tsubaki, and then Hakumen, but battled neither, instead having Phantom teleport both men to different locations. He had Ragna battle Nu to help prepare her and then waited for Izanami's Phenomenon Intervention to reset time to a few days before.

Hazama and Terumi managed to infiltrate the Realm where Noel was beginning to accept her power; they gained access through the tiny rip in the area that Rachel had created to access it herself. The duo had Nu face against Mu and told her that power is power, only being sought so people can feel superior to others. As the Realm collapsed, they left. In Ishana, Hazama watched over the Battle of Ragna the Bloodedge, remarking that Kagura was stronger than he expected.

Both Hazama and Terumi made their way to the Colosseum, finding Ragna. They battled him and won, but they met someone they did not expect – Celica A. Mercury. Her mere presence caused them to get extremely sick and they demanded that Phantom teleport them away. Once he had finished his mission of erecting the barrier completely over Ikaruga, Izanami gave him the job of gathering everyone into it, and he watched as she ordered Phantom to destroy the Takamagahara System.

Hazama later stood on top of the Monolith, but he had been separated from Terumi during this time thanks to the plan of the Six Heroes and Rachel. Regardless, he summoned the Amaterasu Unit into the world thanks to the efforts of Nu. Distracted as Terumi had to fight someone on Hakumen's level, Hazama was fatally attacked by Trinity, leading to Terumi's supposed death at Hakumen's hands. Before he could die, he stabbed Trinity, dragging her and the body of Platinum the Trinity into a nearby lake, where they were all presumed deceased.

Sector Seven

Alongside Terumi, Hazama was sent to secure several areas around the Ikaruga Region to prepare for Doomsday. He was called by Relius, who asked an unknown favor. He later saw Azrael with Nu in Downtown and jokingly asked if there was going to be a marriage proposal.

Hazama visited Relius in an underground laboratory and told him that Litchi had managed to slip their grasp and contact Kokonoe. He asked if he knew about Bullet and Bang, not being surprised to learn that Relius had accounted for their roaming since they possessed the Phoenix: Rettenjo. He looked at Arakune, who was in the corner of the room, and called it a disgusting pet.

Six Heroes

A shadow of Hazama was created by Phantom to battle against Hakumen and Trinity. Her pure hatred for the man made the shadow almost identical to the real thing, which repeatedly taunted Trinity by acting like Kazuma Kval, cruelly playing with her feelings.

A soldier of the Novus Orbis Librarium belonging to the Intelligence Department. His rank is Captain. Having sworn loyalty to the Novus Orbis Librarium, he performs espionage to maintain its rule.

It's just...that's not our only objective, you see. Relius: Objective... I've seen vessels with a strong sense of awareness, but I have a feeling this "objective" of which you speak is not that either. Hazama: Sneaking a peek already? I don't mind you Observing me, but I ask you stay out of my affairs. Relius: I have no reason to meddle. But in the interest of monitoring progress, I must analyze the data before me. ...Join me for a while, Ignis. Hazama: Aww, what's this? Did I pique your curiosity? Are you quite alright? Terumi: Hah... Do I look alright to you!? I've been through hell and back. ...So? What do you want? Hazama: Yes, I had a suggestion in regards to the vessel. Terumi: A suggestion...? Sure, I'll hear you out. This better be interesting. Hazama: Yes, I've no doubt it will be. And while I'm telling you this story... I think you could use another beating! <Hazama Victory> Terumi: Heh heh heh... Hehehe... AHAHAHA! You've gotta be kidding me, Hazzy! Oh, this is unbelievable! You!? A puny little vessel wants to overtake ME!? Hazama: Don't you agree it's a great idea? You're exhausted right now. Using me as a vessel would not get you any closer to your goals. Story Mode

Along with many others, Hazama was absorbed into the Embryo, although the details of his memories being altered remain hazy. He met Terumi in Kagutsuchi's NOL branch, and was detailed about the events that had transpired with everyone being taken into the Embryo and the circumstances both he and everyone else was in. He eventually found Noel in Roningai, and directed her to the Kaka Village under Terumi's orders. Much later on, Hazama visited Kagura, and was taken by Noel to Ragna's cell in the NOL branch where he interrogated Ragna, binding him with Ouroboros and revoking several of his traumatising memories. He stopped when the branch was under attack , and made his way to the cauldron where he watched as Nu and Noel battled and then as Ragna took Noel's place.

He was transported with Terumi to Ikaruga by Nine and was told that killing Izanami would grant him a piece of the Azure. He began discussing things with Terumi, finding out that his wish was to fuse with him and that the Azure could do just that. In Kazamotsu, he found Noel and Mai – pretending to have orders from higher up, he attempted to arrest the former but was stopped by the latter; despite Mai's best efforts, Hazama soundly beat her. Sadly, for Hazama, he was stopped by Kagura and was forced to give both of his victims up.

Hazama's first taste of pain

Somehow, Hazama found himself in an alternate version of the Embryo, finding Mu-12 within it. He took her to the Altar above Kagutsuchi and waited for Ragna to appear – when he did, Hazama told him about his desire to feel pain, and showed the “scar” on his chest before ordering Mu to kill him while he escaped.

Hazama fought Izanami and claimed his piece of the Azure , later finding Terumi and demanding that they fuse using the Azure piece so that Hazama can be in control and experience true power, if only for a while. Terumi later used the Hihiirokane to separate himself from Hazama, and the two parted ways after Terumi absorbed it into himself. He later found Rachel within the frozen space-time, and bound her near a cauldron with the same device he used to torture Saya. He left her there, wondering what would happen if he cut Rachel into pieces and threw them into the Boundary. At some point, he came back, telling her that Izanami had been defeated, acknowledging that the vampire had suffered enough pain to die over ten times already. He saw Relius off as the puppeteer jumped into the Boundary.

Off to a new “possibility”

Hazama was soon found by Ragna, where he revealed that he had tortured Saya years before, and that he was currently torturing Rachel to his heart's content. The two battled, and the hatred Ragna held towards Hazama allowed him to activate his own Azure Grimoire. He was defeated and nearly killed by Ragna had Naoto Kurogane not intervened. Hazama then jumped into the cauldron after telling Trinity how much he hated her eyes.

Bloodedge Experience - Part 2

Hazama reappeared in the Bloodedge Experience possibility. For unknown reasons, he appears much younger, looking like a teenager, and is seemingly aligned with the Mitsurugi Agency. He appeared in front of Valkenhayn and Relius when they apprehended Saya Terumi.
