"Geez, that Touya. You don't need to worry about Hinata."
Hanging out with friends
Akira is a young man of average height, with short orange hair and brown eyes; he has been described as good-looking. He wears the male Hakuo North Academy uniform, which consists of a white dress shirt, black-tipped red tie with a black reversed chevron near the tip, a navy blue blazer, and matching navy blue long pants. He wears the blazer with the collar standing, and leaves his shirt untucked. Akira wears gray trainers with white laces with his school uniform.
When swimming with his friends, Akira had green camouflage-style swimming trunks. As a Union, Akira's Crystal was embedded in his left forearm.
Usually lighthearted, Akira enjoys playing games, being with his friends, and making jokes; in other words, he is a typical high-school student. Because his parents work overseas, Akira learned to live by himself despite only being a teenager. He is quick and lively, but is prone to the occasional mood change which leaves him unpopular with others his own age. Akira will often speak his own mind, a trait which has repeatedly landed him in trouble, such as with Kuon Glamred Stroheim when he called her an "Amazon".
Although he is reluctant to admit it, he is romantically interested with Hinata Himezuru, thinking that she is the perfect girl. Despite being Touya's best friend, he is jealous of him and his closeness to Hinata. As a social pariah without his family or any other friends by his side, Akira was easily manipulated by Acht as she took advantage of his darker feelings.
After having survived being a Union, Akira began to study hard and look at life differently. He wants to become a doctor so he can help others, even spending time studying under Yuki Himezuru to help realize this goal. In his free time, Akira is either playing games, reading manga, or hanging out with Touya and Hinata.
Powers & Techniques
As a Union, Akira possessed the Drive, Hekatonkheires, which let him create strings from his fingers that could be used to capture opponents, even being able to snare someone as strong as Es. They are also razor sharp so they can be used for slashing attacks. After removing his crystal, Akira lost his Drive, becoming a normal human again.

Touya's best friend, even though he is in a different class. His parents work overseas and have pretty much left him to fend for himself, though with a steady stream of money. Although rich and good-looking, his mercurial personality has made him pretty much a social pariah. Acht manipulates his feelings for Hinata and his jealousy of Touya, conning Akira into becoming Union-infected. He managed to overcome his crystal's influence and ripped it out of his body. Miraculously, he survived the experience.
