Fortune favors the bold

Two weeks after the war had ended, Bang took the survivors of the Ikaruga war to the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi, their numbers being within the hundreds. There, Bang was writing a history textbook in his spare time, attempting to put together a list of the NOL's past transgressions which have been covered with their propaganda. The book detailed the formation of the organization in the Dark War up to the end of the Ikaruga Civil War and Tenjo's assassination.

He talked with the ninja about the Rettenjo before going back to help them build what would become the future district of Roningai - the new home of the Ikaruga refugees and one of the few places where the NOL would not bother to enforce their rule. Early in 2199, Bang became acquainted with Litchi Faye-Ling, who had moved into Orient Town as its district doctor. The two formed a quick friendship, with Bang developing feelings for her. He also became good friends with Linhua, Litchi's student, and the Kaka Clan, especially Taokaka.

Calamity Trigger

The head of a clan of ninja that lost their hometown in the Ikaruga Civil War. He escaped with his compatriots to the lower levels of Kagutsuchi, where they began to rebuild. He also acts as the "Protector of Justice Defending Kagutuchi's Love and Peace" (self-proclaimed). After hearing of the arrival of the great criminal "Ragna," he seeks to deliver justice.

Stage IV: Iron Tager

Litchi: I've already decided. This doesn't have anything to do with you anymore! Let me do as I want...! Tager: Wait, Litchi, listen to me... Haah... she's already left. I'm also after a villain named Ragna, but are you... are you also trying to bring him to justice!? Taokaka: Oh yeah, scruffy man! Tao will catch Rawrgna! And I'll get tons of money... Bang: Ohhhhh! Is that right!? You are also a vigilante who despises evil! Have you long been... a vigilante? Taokaka: Hmmmmm... Since about two nights ago, scruffy man. Bang: This is only your third day!? Oh-ho! Subordinate: We just received word that a man who looks like the wanted criminal, Ragna the Bloodedge, has just shown up in town. Bang: Hah... The rumor is that he's taking on the Library all by himself. If that's true, he's a pretty impressive adversary for a villain. So, where is Ragna now? Subordinate: Unfortunately, he's a sneaky one... None of our ninjas have been able to verify his whereabouts yet. Bang: Hmmm... is that right? Subordinate: What's your plan now? Bang: If he's as vicious as they say, we can't let him remain at large. I'll go take care of him. The rest of you stay here, just in case. Subordinate: Sir! Bang: My goddess... BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger - Part 2

In the late December of 2199, Bang saw Jin walk into Roningai. Angered at the presence of Tenjo's murderer, he threw three kunai towards the feet of the Major. Bang shouted at Jin, asking him to recall the memory of the assault on the Wadatsumi castle, but the Major could not remember. The ninja became more angered and the two of them fought, but Jin's usage of Yukianesa bested Bang, who was only left alive thanks to the former's mercy. As he lay defeated, he was approached by Noel Vermillion, Jin's secretary who was chasing the Major down. She attempted to tend to his wounds, but was approached by Bang's subordinates, who believed her to be the culprit of their boss' wounds. Bang told them the truth, and Noel parted them with information on the appearance of Ragna the Bloodedge within the city. The ninja soon took their boss to Litchi's clinic.

Continuum Shift

Acting for the sake of love, justice, and his people, a reliable and hot-blooded ninja. While protecting and guiding the refugees of Ikaruga, he became a "Vigilante" to hunt for prize money in hopes of rebuilding his homeland. He rises to his feet once again after learning of the existence of "His Highness," the deceased ruler's child and heir.

Yo stup ty migh be ntagious. Bang: Hey! Stop wriggling around like some kind of harlot! If you call yourself a man, stand up straight and face me! Arakune: Ir ating... an ying... So m noise... s ch assion Th stench ill y animal... Bang: Speak up! Do you really believe you can butter her up like that!? E-Er... I-I don't mean butter-up literally... I mean... I am no pervert! Bang: Your feelings betray you... So, you know something after all. Where is the young master?! Tell me all that you know! Jin: I told you already... I don't know. Bang: Enough of your lies! I heard the frustration in your voice when I mentioned that girl, Rachel! I have trained my ears to hear an ant sneeze from 10,000 yards away! Jin: Just... shut up. This is bullshit. Bang: Whaa-!? Chrono Phantasma

Bang Shishigami, a vigilante who fights for the sake of love and justice. While searching for the forgotten lord of his hometown he met a small girl named Platinum, whom he entrusted his lord's will to. He returns to Ikaruga, the land of his memories, in order to inherit that soul and to know his own destiny.

Bang: Mm...I have come all the way back to Ikaruga, but I have no idea where to begin looking for my late master's legacy. Even Lady Platinum has only told me that it is somewhere in Ikaruga. Hm?! Arakune: Kukikikikiki! Bang: You! You are that bounty that my beloved Miss Litchi is chasing...Arakune!? What nerve you have! Showing your face in the land of Ikaruga! Arakune: I have found it...found found found found...! The key to open the abyss...of truth. The Azure! Give it to me! Hand the nail to me now! Hehehehehe! Bang: The nail...? You must not mean, you are after this!? The symbol of Ikaruga herself! I daresay I cannot just let you have it because you asked! Moreover, Lady Platinum has warned me not to let it fall in the wrong hands. Arakune: Kuhihihi...give...give it... To me...the abyss of the Azure... The gates of truth...will open! An important mission for Bang Shishigami! You there, suspicious man! HALT! Azrael: ...Me? Bang: Indeed, you! Who are you, and what are you doing?! What might you be doing in this ancient and honorable land of Ikaruga!? Though you may think your disguise ingenious, and your presence subtle...you cannot fool mine eyes with such trickery! ...I can even smell the blood on your sleeves! Azrael: Oh, the smell of blood, huh...? Now that, I did not seem to notice. Bang: ?! That face... M-Might you be the so-called "Mad-dog Azrael" whose name alone instilled fear in grown men fighting in the Ikaruga Civil War? Azrael: You must be a ninja from Ikaruga. I see... What a fascinating opponent. May I ask for the opportunity to cross fists with you? Bang: I gladly accept! I shall avenge my fallen comrades, and restore their honor! <Bang Victory> Bang: *Pant pant* You still...stand after that? How tough can one be...? Azrael: I see. Bang: Relius Clover! ...The evil villain who has kidnapped the beautiful Miss Litchi! Relius: Oh my... The Nox Nyctores "Rettenjo". You've saved me the trouble of searching for it. Bang: Are you saying that even YOU were after this...? Answer me! Why do you seek this Nox Nyctores!? Relius: ... You truly have no idea what it is capable of, do you...? Bang: This nail is the symbol of Ikaruga's soul, given to me by our late master himself...! Relius: A symbol...the soul? Heh heh heh...Hahahahaha! Ignorance must truly be bliss, Ikarugan ninja. Since you have no need of such a prized possession, I shall gladly free you from the burden of bearing it.

KUSHINADA

AD2200/02/03 Bang: Stop this resistance at once! Relius: Mmm, it would seem I have underestimated you. I have much to learn. And that soul of yours...quite fascinating. Very well, I shall enlighten you. The Nox Nyctores "Rettenjo" was designed to destroy the other Nox Nyctores... ...forged by one of the six heroes Nine herself, using "Kushinada's Lynchpin" as its core. The Lynchpin...? Relius: It is activated when it comes into contact with a certain...catalyst. Yes, much like a causality weapon. And though it may only be temporary, it can negate the effects of seithr... Now, imagine what would happen to a civilization built with seithr as its foundation, should the seithr suddenly...stop working? Bang: ...I-It would crumble... Relius: Heh heh, at least you have an ounce of imagination still about you... What you carry is the core to "Kushinada's Lynchpin", an artifact powerful enough to destroy the entire world. Relius: The reason even Tenjo didn't dare to use it during the war is precisely because of that. Bang: Master...?! Relius: He might have been able to defeat the NOL had he unleashed its power, but at a great cost...which clearly he could not accept. Bang: Why, you... Why tell me this?! What are your intentions? Story Mode

Chrono Phantasma

During his travels with Platinum, Bang was informed by Trinity about Kushinada's Lynchpin, although she could give him little information. After a month of travelling through the Ikaruga Region with Platinum, the two of them arrived in the 8th Hierarchical City of Wadatsumi, where they found Carl with Nirvana. He was pleased to see them both and asked how they were doing. The three of them separated, each heading to a different Hierarchical City, although Bang stayed in Wadatsumi to search for the Lynchpin.

Kagura later contacted Bang and the two of them met at a field in the dead of night. Although Bang resented Kagura for having fled during the civil war and for “turning traitor” against Tenjo, he still agreed to meet since the Black Knight had information on Kushinada's Lynchpin. They met and Bang learned the truth, being reintroduced to Homura Amanohokosaka, Tenjo's child who Kagura had been protecting since the war. Overjoyed, Bang's friendship with Homura and Kagura was rekindled and he was ordered to go to the Wadatsumi Castle basement where he would wait for someone to help him with using the Rettenjo.

Eventually, Ragna, Noel, and Celica A. Mercury arrived at the Wadatsumi Castle where Bang was waiting. He battled Ragna and determined that the Grim Reaper had a true understanding of power and how to wield it, so he lent the group his strength and the use of the Rettenjo. Celica asked that he hammed it into the Lynchpin and, should that fail, that she should be used instead. Although this confused him, the group did not have time to discuss the matter as Relius, Litchi, Ignis, and Nu-13 arrived to complicate matters. Makoto and Tsubaki Yayoi arrived to back Bang up in the fight, but he was shocked when Carl arrived and joined his father – Bang was in anguish as he had to fight against both Litchi and Carl. Tsubaki and Makoto made his job easier and he took on Relius by himself, dividing the fight because of the deadly teamwork displayed by Ignis and Nirvana. Bang later received a call from Ragna telling him that he had only 10 minutes to activate the Lynchpin, or everything would be lost, so the ninja redoubled his efforts.

Thanks to the arrival of Valkenhayn, Bang was able to get atop the Lynchpin, which Rachel teleported above the Monolith in Ibukido. On Tager and Rachel's instruction, Bang jumped into the air and hammered Rettenjo as hard as he could into the Lynchpin, making it fall into the Monolith and thus disrupting the flow of seithr across the world.

Sector Seven

When Bang arrived in Wadatsumi, he was shocked and angry over the state of his hometown. He separated from Platinum, but he remained worried about their wellbeing, so sent one of his ninja to watch over them until they made it to the next Hierarchical City. He saw Amane Nishiki in the distance and approached him, believing that the man was a spy for the NOL. They battled and formed a deep and “manly” friendship that was forged from fighting. He was happy to help his new friend, but could not tell him where Carl was, someone that Amane was looking for. They parted ways, but Amane told Bang that there was doubt in him, and that the ninja would need to visit his roots.

Alone with his thoughts, Bang remembered when Jin killed Tenjo during the Ikaruga Civil War. To his shock, Jin appeared in front of him at the Wadatsumi Castle. He immediately battled the Major, insulted to his core that he would appear at this location. They battled but Bang was no match and his final attack sent him hurtling through the ground and into an underground basement. He was found by Bullet, who he initially thought was Litchi. The two decided to team together to search for Relius Clover, as Bang remembered that he had heard the name before Tenjo's assassination. He began talking about Litchi's figure, so Bullet punched him as hard she could.

He set up camp with Bullet and attempted to get to know her better, telling her a bad joke and then belly dancing, eventually getting her to smile. The two were kindred spirits – both were wholly dedicated to someone that was no longer with them and they promised to help each other as much as possible. They continued to search for Relius in Yabiko, although Bang stopped Bullet's questionable methods of gaining information. They saw Arakune close by and Bang engaged it in battle before it sulked away. Both of them followed after it, ending up in the Grave Marker of Bases.

The location was unfamiliar to them both, but Relius was there. He told Bang of Rettenjo's true purpose and Kokonoe arrived with Litchi, Kagura, and Makoto. The professor told them all about the civil war's true purpose – to create a Black Beast by gathering as many souls as possible. Bang's anger only increased as Relius revealed he was trying to create another, using Arakune as the base.

Central Fiction

The head of a clan of ninja that lost their hometown in the Ikaruga Civil War. He escaped with his compatriots to the lower levels of Kagutsuchi, where they began to rebuild. He also acts as the "Protector of Justice Defending Kagutuchi's Love and Peace" (self-proclaimed). After hearing rumors of the great criminal "Ragna," he seeks to deliver justice.

Bang: Hah hah hah! Right now Kagutsuchi is overflowing with vigilantes because of the rumors of the Grim Reaper. Truth is, I am after him myself! So, I have a proposal for you. Why don't we work together? What say you, the most renowned and the most powerful vigilante combine forces!? The Grim Reaper won't stand a chance! Carl: Sorry, but I'll have to decline. Bang: Ah--! Very well said... and so, we must think of a name for our... Wait, what!? Carl: In fact, if you're after the Grim Reaper, too... it would be in my best interest to eliminate the competition... I would not trust one who sends a clone to do their bidding! Hibiki: I see... you truly are worthy of being Kagura's younger disciple... Bang: ...What is it that you want? Surely what you said about it being Kagura's orders was also false? Hibiki: Well done again. Then we should cut right to the chase. I will need from you the Phoenix Rettenjo, to bestow upon Lord Kagura. Bang: This is the very soul of my people I have inherited from the late master. Then you really are one of the Six Heroes...!? Nine: I am. And I also created the Rettenjo you now wear. Bang: ...! Nine: The Nox Nyctores do not belong in your hands. Story Mode

With many others, Bang was taken inside the Embryo and became one of the chosen. His memories were altered so that he believed that Kagura was the Hero of Ikaruga, and that the date was 31/12/2199. He met Tao, who came to a distorted version of Roningai, and told him that she was self-graduating to no longer be his apprentice. Bang told her that it was too dangerous, his memories being altered so that he didn't remember his friendship with the Grim Reaper.

Helping an injured Ragna

Overhearing a battle in Roningai between Ragna and Carl, Bang arrived, and found Ragna, seriously injured from an attack by Nirvana. He took him to Litchi's clinic where he discovered that the Grim Reaper has lost all recollection of who he was. Under Litchi's orders, Bang began to investigate the NOL and how far along they were with the search for Ragna.

His investigation led him to find Noel surveying the entrance to the Kaka Village, leading Bang to rush back to the others and warn them. Litchi persuaded him to allow her to distract the lieutenant, but he ran back to her when he realised that Ragna was missing, making the lies Litchi had just told worthless as Noel was in earshot. He chased after Noel who was after Litchi for more information. He eventually found Tsubaki talking to Litchi over Noel's condition and was about to attack the soldier until Litchi stopped him, and he apologized.

Much later on, Bang was transported to Ikaruga by Nine the Phantom and told to kill Izanami to claim his piece of the Azure – he found Ragna in a seriously wounded state, and tended to him. He then filled him on the history of the distorted world and the Ikaruga Civil War. He took him to Akitsu, where they parted ways. He was soon hunted down by Nu-13 as she wanted the Rettenjo. They battled but were interrupted by Nine herself; knowing he could not survive against both, Bang fled, being aided by Tao.

Like the other chosen, Bang was told that by killing Noel, he could make his dream to restore Ikaruga come true. However, he believed that by killing her, he would become no better than the soldiers who brought his homeland to ruin. He was found by Ragna, who took his dream after a brief battle.

Bang takes on Litchi's burden

Tager contacted Bang and Tao, asking them to assist Litchi in finally taking down Arakune. They accepted, finding her in Kagutsuchi. There, they found the monster and began battling it, with Litchi telling the ninja that the real Roy's soul lay deep in the Boundary. After watching Litchi being eaten and then spat out by Arakune, he knocked her out to stop her from killing it, unwilling to let her kill the man she loved – instead, he chose to bear this burden. He fought Arakune and nearly killed him until the monster, Litchi, and Tao all dissolved into seithr. Bang eventually met this fate as well, and his data was backed up by Es.

In the new world created by Ragna, Bang was last seen rebuilding Ikaruga with his fellow ninja, giving a large shout of encouragement.
