Saya Terumi (輝弥サヤ) is the current host of Soul Eater in the Bloodedge Experience possibility. She is a member of the Amanohokosaka Clan and the younger sister of Naoto Kurogane. Saya is the perfect killer who struggles to keep her Drive under control, and yearns to revive the Terumi branch of her clan.

Saya is one of the main characters of BlazBlue: Bloodedge Experience - Part 2.

Appearance

Saya is a 13 year old girl with pale skin, red eyes and long purple hair that is found among all known women of the Amanohokosaka Clan. She is usually seen in a purple kimono. She is always seen carrying a handbag with her katana lying inside.

Personality

As a child, Saya was weak, quiet, and shy. She was proud over her clan to the point that Naoto thought she was almost obsessed. After the incident, she was confined in the Amanohokosaka household. Because of this, Saya doesn't have any friends, she doesn't go to school, nor studies or plays. She has spent most of her life in isolation.

Saya's relationship with Naoto is odd. The two are estranged but they both feel a familial connection, caring about one another to some degree. Saya's feelings, however, are twisted, as she only wants to kill Naoto to claim the Eye of the Hunter. With it, she plans to revive her clan. She has apathetic feelings over her mother, and she does not seem to care about Haruka Hayami or Yuki Hayami.

Biography

Born to the Terumi branch, Saya was given martial arts training by her mother. When she was 8 years old, the parasitic Drive, Soul Eater, latched onto her. The young girl went crazy, killing her father and every other member of the clan except her brother, Naoto. Before Saya could kill anyone else, the head of the Amanohokosaka Clan, Mei Amanohokosaka, intervened and kept Saya detained for the next 5 years within the main Amanohokosaka household.

Bloodedge Experience - Part 1

Mei eventually let Saya go under the pretext of being unable to control her much longer. She gave Saya a letter for Naoto, and the young girl went to Shin Kawahama City to find her brother. She eventually arrived at her brother's flat, and the door was opened by her cousin, Haruka. Haruka left to get Naoto from the living room and the two siblings were finally reunited.[1]

Bloodedge Experience - Part 2

Reunited

Saya was invited into Naoto's apartment, and rejected Haruka's offer of black tea. She asked who Raquel Alucard was and what the contents of the letter were. As soon as Haruka left with Raquel, Saya grabbed Naoto by the throat and pushed him against a wall, telling him how desperately she wanted the Eye of the Hunter. She began to drain his life-force, but she noticed something was odd until Raquel came bursting back into the room and use her Drive to push the siblings apart. Saya drew her blade and lunged towards Raquel, drawing the vampire's blood. She learned that Naoto had already been killed once and relented on attacking again, instead leaving, claiming that she had only arrived to deliver the letter.[2]

At some point, Saya ran into an Apostle and murdered him using Soul Eater and her sword. The corpse was later found by Spinner Superior.[3] Soon enough, Saya found Valkenhayn R. Hellsing and Relius Clover, attacking the former for the "sin" of killing Naoto. The fight was gruelling, although it leaned heavily in Saya's favor as she attacked with a technique that allowed her to amplify her speed and power. After several minutes had passed, however, Saya was too tired to fight, the trade-off for the technique. Even though she had activated her Drive, Saya was about to lose, only for Naoto to come to her to rescue. Before the new brawl could ensue, Spinner arrived and kidnapped Saya.[4]

As Saya had been kidnapped, she was encased in a large insect created by Spinner. The girl was unconscious, her Drive being allowed to run rampant. After a long fight, Raquel and Naoto defeated the bug and Saya was allowed free.[5] The fight with Spinner, however, was not over, and in the chaos that followed, Relius and Valkenhayn kidnapped the girl. They took her back to the Mitsurugi Agency and kept her contained.[6]

Powers and Abilities

As the current host of Soul Eater, Saya is remarkably powerful and shows great control over the Drive. Usually, the Drive is an aura which drains the life-force of everyone in her vicinity, but Saya has such control over it that she needs only touch someone to activate it. Furthermore, should she kiss someone, then she will take a person's life-force far more rapidly. Even when she was only 8, Saya's Drive was strong enough to wipe out the entirety of her clan.

Saya's Drive is not her only strength, however, as she is an incredible swordswoman who wields her katana with deadly proficiency. Her strikes are fast, deliberate, and powerful, being able to land blows on both Raquel and Valkenhayn. Physically, she's strong enough to lift Naoto by his throat. An interesting technique that Saya can employ to vastly improve her speed and strength, allowing her to outpace and nearly defeat Valkenhayn. There is only one drawback, and that the technique will greatly tire her after three minutes. Saya is also hindered by her naturally frail body, meaning she needs to use Soul Eater regularly to keep up her strength.
