Drei (ドライ) is a major antagonist in XBlaze Code: Embryo. He is one of the Ten Sages that went rogue, alongside Sechs and Acht.

Drei was revealed for BlazBlue Alternative: Dark War on February 10th, 2021.

Appearance

Drei's usual attire.

A tall and extremely muscular man with slicked-back brown hair, red eyes, and an almost permanently scornful expression. Drei wears a tight fitting green vest that has a popped collar. Slung over his shoulders is a large black coat with a popped collar and golden hemming; it is fastened across his neck by an extravagant metal fixture with writing on it, and the coat itself reaches down to his calves. Drei wears black trousers and a large belt with an oversized silver buckle - hanging from his belt are numerous black cloths. Around Drei's biceps are two tight black belts, he wears black gloves, and he has green shoes with black tips.

Drei's casual outfit consists of an olive green shirt with a lighter green waist-jacket. Over this is a black suit that wraps tightly around his muscular body. He wears the same gloves as in his usual outfit.

Personality

Drei is incredibly proud of his accomplishments and his strength as one of the Ten Sages. As such, he looks down on others, seeing them as weak and unworthy. Drei is incredibly devoted to the concept of the Ten Sages, having aspired to be one since he was a child. However, he found dissatisfaction in the fact that most people received the position through titles and family name, not through their own skill. As such, Drei really respects those who he saw, as “true” members of the Ten Sages, those who received the title on their own merits. He will devote himself wholly to someone he sees as worthy, wanting to see the world Sechs wishes to create despite having no idea what that would mean for him and the world. He also harbors a hatred for artificial beings, or “dolls” as he puts it, claiming they have no place in Sechs's world.

Powers & Techniques

Being a member of the Ten Sages, Drei is one of the most powerful Mages in the world. He specializes in Boosting magic that increases his physical attributes. He can also create shockwaves with his fists, meaning he can fight at both short and long-range. Despite his size, he is surprisingly agile. He also know some healing magic, but it was useless on the wounds inflicted by Avenge's knives.

Despite his obsession with proper behavior, he betrayed the Magic Guild by helping Sechs steal a Legacy Weapon. He excels at magically amplifying the abilities of others. His revulsion towards the aristocracy of the Magic Guild and their endless power-grabs caused him to turn to Sechs for guidance. Convinced that Sechs alone knew of the way to become a true Ten Sage, Drei became his disciple. Was killed by the bounty hunter Avenge and sent back to seithr by his former mentor, Zwei.
