Bullet was brought up in a mercenary squad, the only girl among its all-male members. She considered them the only family she knew and grew attached to the captain of her squadron. At some point, a combat instructor known as Amane Nishiki was hired by the squadron's drill sergeant; compelled to join in with her family, Bullet participated in the training of three days and nights of solely Oriental dance. Amane soon left, realizing that he had mistaken the "troops" for a "troupe," and Bullet swore revenge, the music of that night permanently engraved into her memory.

Chrono Phantasma

A mercenary who wanders battlefields across the world. A single scar marring her handsome face speaks of the severity of battle. Furthermore, five years ago her squad was annihilated during a military operation. In order to uncover the truth and take revenge, she takes a shot at infiltrating Ikaruga.

Stage 3: Amane Nishiki

Bullet: ...You...?! Amane: Hm? Are you talking to me? Bullet: Oh, never mind... I think I have the wrong person. Sorry. Amane: Whoa whoa, are you trying to say there are others out there who look just like me? You've got my attention. Would you mind sharing your story? Bullet: I didn't mean to say you looked like someone else, I just... Well, how about I share my story as an apology? Amane: Sounds like a fair trade to me. Bullet: That was nearly 10 years ago...when I was still a child. Our drill sergeant said something about integrating new moves into our combat, so he brought a guest instructor... I remember the instructor saying, "I heard you guys were amazing troops! I've come all the way to witness your prowess!" Or something. Amane: I see, I see. Bullet: And this instructor...he kept telling us, "You guys don't even have the basics down!" and made us dance around some strange watch-tower like structure... Apparently it's some sort of traditional dance from the Orient. The troops took good care of me, so I participated... Amane: And then? And then? Bullet: For three days and three nights, the instructor forced us to perform this dance, until suddenly, he said, "Dammit, I got the wrong troupe!" and vanished completely... Amane: Oh my... Bullet: That was hell itself...and I still remember it like yesterday. And that oriental music...is...is still burned into my memory! Amane: Hahaha, so that instructor mixed up "troops" with "troupe" huh? What a clumsy little fellow. And you're saying this instructor guy looks a lot like me? Bullet: Exactly... Amane: That's because...it was me. Bullet: ...You're dead! <Bullet Victory> Amane: Guheah... This isn't good. I shall take my leave here. Bullet: I don't ever want to see your face again! Still... Can that man be telling the truth? If he really was that instructor from 10 years ago, how does he not age?

Stage 6: Valkenhayn R. Hellsing

Bullet: Non-humans like you walking amongst us... I must be getting warm. Valkenhayn: That is quite a strong accusation you make, young lady, and an impolite one at that. Nonetheless, I thought I was doing a good job concealing my presence. I suppose age is a foe against which no man can fight. Bullet: There is no need for manners against non-humans. Valkenhayn: A vigorous young lady, you are... Now, what might a humble old man do for you? Bullet: ...I'm looking for another non-human named "Kokonoe". If you know anything about her, I suggest you begin talking. Valkenhayn: Even if I had that knowledge, I would not simply hand it over to a little GIRL with no manners. Bullet: I normally don't cross fists with the elderly, but... To a non-human wrought with the stench of blood like yourself, I will show no mercy. Valkenhayn: You, too, leave me no choice. I suppose it is up to me to teach you some manners. <Bullet Victory> Bullet: Guh... Damn non-human...you're strong. Valkenhayn: Quite impressive for a young girl... I'm not sure this old body can take much more punishment of that caliber. Nonetheless, your combat form...it seems somehow...familiar. Bullet: Huh? Valkenhayn: ?! Madam Rachel...?! Understood. I am heading over post-haste. Bullet: What's going on!? H-Hey, wait, you non-human! Guh...damn, my legs... I guess I'm still no match for the likes of him.

Stage 7: Iron Tager

Bullet: Tch...I've lost him. Clearly, he knew something... Tager: Hey, what are you doing here? Bullet: ?! You're...the Red Devil from Sector Seven. Tager: I'm still waiting for an answer... Bullet: Heh heh heh... Today must be my lucky day. To think I would just happen to run into Kokonoe's little puppy... Tager: Are you with the Library? Bullet: ...Where's your master, Kokonoe? Hm? Tager: Do you really think I'll answer that? Kokonoe: *Noise* I'm right here. What do you want? Tager: H-Hey... Kokonoe. Kokonoe: Don't worry... She piqued my interest, and I felt like talking to her. What's your name? Bullet: This isn't ars magus... Are you using radio waves transmitted through some relay? The noise is terrible... To think that THE Kokonoe would be using such outdated technology. Tager: ... Bullet: The name's "Bullet"... I was one of the mercenaries hired by you, Sector Seven. I have questions about the incident from 5 years ago... The mission to take back a phenomena weapon. Kokonoe: ...You must be talking about Nirvana. For the record, I don't know much about that incident myself. I suppose you could say "They found something shiny and went after it"... Bullet: Bullshit. I'm not sure what you told the public, but that mission was carefully orchestrated by "Relius Clover". I know that much... ...Because it was my team that took point. Kokonoe: Huh? Tager: ... Bullet: I was injured in a previous mission and didn't take part in the strike team...so here I am. Alive. But what I really want to know is...where is the other survivor? Kokonoe: Dead. Bullet: Tch... Lies. Kokonoe: Tager, eliminate her. Tager: Huh? O-Oh, right... Sorry, could you repeat that? Kokonoe: ...Terminate that girl...now. Bullet: Red Devil...where the hell did you go? Where is this...? Some facility in the Library? Nu: ...Activating. Activating. Activating. Bullet: Who's there!? Nu: Target confirmed... Combat ability level B+. Commencing operation mode C. Bullet: ...A girl? Hazama: Oh my...looks like I fished out a strange one... Now, who might you be? Bullet: A voice? Where are you!? Tch... One thing after another. What the hell's going on here? Hazama: Hmm...but the fact that you're here must mean you have an invitation to the "party". I suppose you're a piece of the puzzle, too... Somehow... Bullet: Party...? What are you talking about? Nu: ...Roger. Deploying petals. Bullet: Hmph, not even going to dignify that with an answer, huh? *Sigh* Calm down. Focus on the opponent in front of you... She's definitely dangerous. Nu: Murakumo Unit...activate. Now commencing termination.

AD2200/01/29 Bullet: Hm...? U-Uh...! Shit...did I really just doze off? Bullet: ...Tomorrow, I'll be in Ikaruga. I suppose I should go over my infiltration plan and remember the layout... Still, this isn't my first time in Ikaruga, but it looks...quite different. Right now this place is governed by... The Black Knight: Kagura...and the Mutsuki family. Of all people... I should try to avoid any contact with the Library. Mmm, I guess I lucked out...there wasn't much seithr here. Wasn't hard to throw up a barrier. ...But it's strange. It's almost too thin. Ah, I should stop thinking about that stuff. My thoughts are all over the place. Focus, focus. Bullet: Heh, the guys in my squad used to tell me that a lot... I need to focus more. ...Guys... Bullet: ... Bullet: ...I will...avenge you. Captain...did you really... ...Betray us?

Story Mode

Chrono Phantasma

Just outside of the Ikaruga Region, Bullet woke from a nightmare in cold sweat. She collected her thoughts and reminded herself that she would be in the region tomorrow morning. She soon arrived at the 7th Hierarchical City of Kazamotsu where she accidentally bumped into Ragna the Bloodedge at a Chinese restaurant. Bullet recognized him from his wanted posters and asked what she should do if she theoretically came across the Grim Reaper, the most wanted man in the world. Taokaka, who was with Ragna, insensitively commented on her risque uniform, provoking Bullet into punching Ragna, only making him call her “butt floss” in retaliation. He then continued to mock her uniform, further angering Bullet, until she threatened to not show any mercy the next time they would meet. Ragna insults her again before she left in a huff. This exchange was undone by Phenomenon Intervention done by Izanami and the Takamagahara System.

Instead of bumping into Ragna and there being aggravation between the two, Bullet ran to his side as blood gushed out of him. He knew her name, having remembered it from the previous phase leaving her shocked. She let him leave the restaurant, not knowing what to do.

Bullet joined as a participator of the Battle of Ragna the Bloodedge, winning her first victory in supposed style, being good enough that even Rachel Alucard had casually bet on her. As she entered the Colosseum for the final qualifiers, her opponent, Bob, was defeated by Azrael, who entered the arena. He told her that he killed most of her unit and she engaged him battle, but was defeated; the Mad Dog broke both her legs and one of her arms, taunting her again and again. She couldn't fight, Azrael was going to kill her, but Ragna jumped into the arena, handing Bullet to Celica A. Mercury, who took her back to the infirmary. Bullet's weakness was because of Celica's presence, which restricted her use of Ars Magus.

Sector Seven

When Bullet arrived in Ikaruga she found Amane, recognizing him from years before. She did not believe he was the same person since his appearance was the same, and told him the story of the dancing instructor from years ago. At the end of it, Amane confessed he was the same person and Bullet promised that she would kill him. The battle, however, was a stalemate and Amane left after telling her to follow her instincts. Bullet then flipped a coin, taking his advice – it landed on heads, so she pursued Kokonoe with renewed vigor.

Bullet was found by Azrael near the 8th Hierarchical City of Wadatsumi and he told her that he recognized her unit's emblem. Bullet attempted to fight, but was nearly bested, so used a grenade to cover her retreat. She hid in Yabiko from the Mad Dog, knowing that he would be unlikely to walk into the area's shopping district. Bullet saw Litchi Faye-Ling outside of restaurant's window and chased after her, demanding to know Kokonoe's location. Even though Litchi did not know the answer, Bullet still attacked, but the doctor escaped. Bullet was angry at herself for this, saying she was no better than Azrael.

When at Wadatsumi again, Bullet found Bang Shishigami, who had fallen deep into the underground area she was in. He initially mistook her for Litchi but she slapped some sense into him and the two decided to work together in order to find Relius. Bang told her that Relius likely instigated the Ikaruga Civil War, and that he was responsible for organizing the death of Tenjo Amanohokosaka. She attacked Bang when he kept talking about Litchi's figure.

Both Bang and Bullet set up camp that night, although she was initially on guard for most of the time they spent together. Bang eventually made her laugh with a belly dance and the two talked about their past – they were kindred spirits – both were dedicated to a master who was no longer with them, and they promised each other that they help one another on their quests.

Bang and Bullet went to Yabiko to continue their investigation, although Bullet's questionable methods of borderline interrogation were stopped by Bang, who wondered how she was not already in prison. They both saw Arakune, noting it to be extremely suspicious – they both gave chase, ending up in the Grave Marker of Bases. Relius was there, as was Litchi, Kagura, Makoto Nanaya, and Kokonoe. She listened to Relius and Kokonoe explain about the Ikaruga Civil War, and that her squadron was just a pawn in Relius' game. The mad scientist also revealed that he was going to create another Black Beast with Arakune as the foundation.

Central Fiction

A warrior who wandered around as an orphan of war before she was picked up and raised by a mercenary squad. That squad, with the exception of the caption Tager and Bullet herself, was annihilated. Since then, together with Tager, she has worked as a mercenary under Kokonoe's watch.

Arakune: Smel... blood... no... not you...! Bullet: Sorry, but I'm on duty... Professor Kokonoe, I've engaged the 2nd target in the abandoned facility. Kokonoe: ... Bullet: ...Professor Kokonoe!? Damn signal...! Kokonoe: Hm? Oh, right... could you repeat that? Bullet: I've engaged the target. What shall I do after I've taken it into custod-- Kokonoe: 10-4. I'll leave the rest up to you. Bullet: Professor!? Respond! Professor! Leave it up to me...? I'm not the decision maker... Arakune: Get out... f... my...ay! Kihehehehe! Bullet: The more I think about it, something was very strange about this mission. Professor Kokonoe was practically hands-off. The Grim Reaper you've pursued has lost his memory and doesn't even know what the Azure Grimoire does. And our encounter with the NOL spy. Why were we not notified!? This doesn't make any sense! Tager: I get what you want to say, but you best call it quits. Bullet: I trust you, Captain... but what on earth is Kokonoe trying to do!? Tager: We're soldiers. We aren't here to questions orders, only obey them. Now, get back to your mission. Bullet: But--! Tager: Don't make me repeat myself, Bullet... Get back to your mission. Or else... Bullet: C-Captain!? <Bullet Victory> Tager: Sheesh... You cool off a little bit? Bullet: Captain... You knew about this...? Tager: I see you're not satisfied. Bullet: What the...!? Mad dog... Captain! I'm coming! Tager: No... Stay back! Azrael: Ah... That's your subordinate? Oh man, I'm having deja vu right now! Haha! Bullet: Deja... vu? Azrael: Yes, all the fodder flocking around the Captain, trying to save him or whatever... Your comrades never seem to learn, do they? Bullet: What... the hell!? You mean you...YOU killed everyone in the squadron!? Azrael: That's right. But I gotta give credit where it's due... They held strong... when I crushed their limbs and ripped them to shreds. And you... You were some fun to play with. For the small fry you are. Let's see if you've changed, shall we? Bullet: Wha...!? Captain! Azrael: The so-called Red Devil was hardly satisfying... You better pick up his slack, mercenary! Bullet: AZRAEL! <Bullet Victory> Bullet: How could this be...? It's as though they don't even affect you. Azrael: Tch... I give you a fair fight, and this is the best you can do? What's the matter? Come at me again...unless you're finished? In which case... Don't mind if I do! Bullet: ...!? Huh...? Bullet: What... the...? Am I in hell...? Did Azrael kill me...? Nine: No, you're very much alive. I've just removed him from the stage. Bullet: Who are you? What've you done!? Where am I...? Nine: Hehe... You must really hate being a half-baked soldier. Your dream is to become stronger and fight with them...? Don't let me stop you, but-- Do you think you even have the right to wish for something like that? Bullet: I've heard enough from you! Don't patronize me...! Nine: This is a great opportunity... Why don't you show me your true strength. Hm? <Bullet Victory> Bullet: Guaaah! Y-You're strong... What the hell are you...!? Nine: ...Forget it. You're not even close to claiming your desire. Bullet: Obtain the Azure to make your wish come true... What a joke. Now, I haven't investigated this area yet... Tsubaki: You're from Sector Seven. I cannot have you running amok in Ikaruga -- as long as it's under NOL jurisdiction. Bullet: This doesn't concern you. I suggest you keep on walking. Tsubaki: You're practically interrogating the people of this city and god knows why. Clearly you are a threat to the state. Bullet: Interrog...? Don't be ridiculous. I was just asking them a few questions. Tsubaki: Yes. And grabbing people by the collar is your way of questioning. It seems that the only way to resolve this is by force... I will take you into custody. <Bullet Victory> Tsubaki: K'uh... Don't you dare move! Bullet: Sorry, but I've got no time to fool around here. I need to find this Izanami or whatever. Tsubaki: Izanami? You mean to tell me... You're after the Azure, too!? Bullet: ...!? You know about this? Then tell me... What is the Azure, and where is Izanami!? Tsubaki: ...I will never give Sector Seven any information! I'm sworn to the NOL! Bullet: Hmph... There's no use talking to you, now that your heart's set... Bullet: Whoa--!? ...What the hell do you want!? Taokaka: Lady, you smell delicious! Like meat, meow! Bullet: Meat...? Well, I did just cook a chunk of meat in the forest... Taokaka: It smells yummy... Give some to Tao, meow! Bullet: How can I share something I've already eaten...? Taokaka: Tao's hungry, meow... Tao's gonna die... So, if you can't give me any meat, then buy some! Bullet: I'm in a hurry. I suggest you try elsewhere. Taokaka: You're going to just let Tao die like that!? You big meaaaaniee! Bullet: You're mad at ME!? G'rah! <Bullet Victory> Bullet: Fine, fine... I'll get you some food, so stop attacking. Taokaka: Do you mean that, meow!? Oh, thank goodness... Now I can find this Izameowmi! Bullet: Did you just say...Izanami? Taokaka: That's right, meow. Tao's gonna beat up the bad guy Izanami, and get the Azure, and bring peace to the village, meow! Stage 7: Kokonoe

Kokonoe: Bullet. What are you doing here? You were supposed to be on a mission in Kagutsuchi-- But wait... If you're one of the chosen, then I suppose this all makes sense. Bullet: Are you after Izanami, too Professor? Do you think what she said was true...? Kokonoe: What who said? Tell me everything. Bullet: Defeating Izanami, and using the Azure to make your wish real... Someone named Nine told me that. Kokonoe: What!? You mean you met...Mother? Bullet: Mother...? Then you mean to tell me... Kokonoe: Don't jump to conclusions. And stop prying. I've just come to see something for myself. Bullet: See something...? What could that be? Kokonoe: A way to destroy this world... And I'm going to need a little help from you. <Bullet Victory> Kokonoe: Bullet. How long have you been working under me? Bullet: ...? Since the mission to retrieve the Phenomena Weapon, so... 8 years now? Kokonoe: I see... but you left Sector Seven after that mission. I've no record of you working for me since then. Bullet: I remember now... Of course! Then what the hell's going on here!? Hey, who the hell are you? Izanami: You were searching for me, were you not? Bullet: ...Oh? Which makes you Izanami. You're the one who implanted these weird memories in me. Right? Izanami: All of your memories are based on your experience -- All the phenomenon have indeed transpired. Although, they might have been based on one's inner thoughts. Bullet: You mean to tell me my dream is to call the Red Devil my captain and work under Kokonoe!? Sounds like BS to me! Izanami: Why do you deny it...? You've been reunited with the one you sought for so long. Bullet: Hmph... I was hoping that wasn't the case, but...could it be? Forget it, I don't need a world riddled with lies and deception. What I want, I'll get with my own strength. Now, hand over the Azure... Izanami! <Bullet Victory> Bullet: This is the... Azure? Bullet: What were you going to do? ...Knowing Kokonoe's whereabouts. Hibiki: Kindly ask her to leave the stage. She has become a liability for Lord Kagura's plans. Bullet: Hmm... Bullet: Lambda-11. Finally, a solid lead. It was very brief, but we were comrades, once. Hey, Kokonoe can you hear me!? I have questions that need answers! Story Mode

Becoming one of the chosen, Bullet was absorbed into the Embryo, and came to believe that she had been a member of Sector Seven as her memories were altered. She was deployed by Kokonoe alongside Tager to the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi to capture the Azure Grimoire. En route to Kagutsuchi's main hub, she came across Platinum the Trinity in Bascule but was unable to properly see her due to her fluctuating existence, and continued forward towards her objective. She was found by Noel in Roningai, and was nearly arrested until Tager came to her aide – they both retreated. She descended to the lower levels, admitting to herself that she had underestimated Noel, and coming into contact with Arakune and fighting him off

Like all the other Entited, Bullet was transported to Ikaruga. Because of the seithr around where she was transported, it took her longer than she expected to get back into contact with Sector Seven. She eventually found Tager and, despite his warnings, went to pursue Arakune to bring him back to Kokonoe. In a forest, Bullet's memories had failed to truly return to her, as she only saw flashes of her past. Azrael found her, but was disappointed in her being one of the last of the chosen to regain their memories. He ruthlessly beat her and left her and telling her about her past. Bullet resolved to find Tager, unsure if he was or wasn't the captain of her squad. Ragna would soon appear and devour her dream.

Finally putting her past behind her

Soon enough, Bullet's memories did return, and she called out for Tager to meet her in the Colosseum. There she challenged him over his memories, knowing that he had to be the captain that she had spent the last few years searching for, but Tager revealed to her that his memories had been sealed away and that he can't remember anything before coming into Kokonoe's service. Bullet challenged him, hoping that she could prove to her former captain that she is stronger than she was when she was a child – through her strength and resolve, Bullet won, and told him that she would striving down her own path, and would not be weighed down by her past.

In the new world created by Ragna, Bullet returned to Sector Seven, being sent on a mission with Tager to Yabiko.
