Gii is the bat familiar pet of Rachel Alucard, and is always seen with Nago, its mentor. It loyally serves Rachel, but its cowardly and unusually irritating personality often leads to it being brutally treated by its mistress. Gii is a shapeshifter who transforms to aid Rachel in combat.

Appearance

Usually appearing as a stubby red bat, Gii's true appearance is unknown. In its bat form, it usually has pure white eyes with no pupils, pink cheeks, stubby wings, a visible naval, and thin legs and feet. It has been known to transform into numerous shapes, although many of them are abstract and are only used for combat if Rachel demands it. It seemingly has far less forms than Nago does.

Personality

Cowardly and extremely afraid of Rachel's wrath. Gii seemingly has great difficulty knowing what to say and will often get itself carried away while it talks. This behavior has made it the frequent subject of Rachel's punishment, and there is rarely a time where it has not undergone extreme physical torment after a seemingly innocent comment. Despite this, however, it has been known to make crude comments with Nago, and is not above taunting its princess' enemies - although it is still punished for doing so.

It desperately vies for Rachel's approval, but is never successful, only ever landing itself in more trouble and punishment. Despite all the pain it has endured, it remains infinitely loyal to the Alucard Clan.

Powers and Techniques

Gii is often used as Rachel's shield in combat while Nago is used for damaging a target. It will be used to take the blows from opponents, but can be offensively used. Its physical endurance is incredible, having taken a blow from Azrael himself,[1] and being frequently punished by Rachel. This includes, but is not limited to: being electrocuted; thrown across a room; and being stretched and contorted to impossible shapes.

Library Entry

Gii

Rachel's familiar. It looks like a bat, but what it actually is, is a mystery. It has the ability to transform itself into a wide variety of shapes, and is treated much worse than his counterpart, Nago. But he still yearns for his master's approval.

Personality is a mixed bag... one second it's cowered in fear, the next it's crying for, reasons unknown.[2]

Trivia

  • Gii shares its English voice actress, Cindy Robinson, with Makoto Nanaya.
  • Gii's sex is left ambiguous. It is either referred to as "it" or "he/him/his".
