Nago (ナゴ) is one of Rachel Alucard's two pet familiars, alongside Gii. He usually appears a large, plump, black cat, but can transform at will to any number of different shapes, most notably a large parasol. His cheek and loyalty often keeps himself in Rachel's favor.

Appearance

Normally appearing as a pump black cat, Nago has the ability to change shape whenever he wants. In his cat form, he has deep red eyes, and cartoon-ish pink cheeks, and stands only a few feet shorter than his master, and is much larger than real world cats. In his parasol form, he appears as a large umbrella with his face on the ferrule; just below his face are two stubby paws and his tail is the handle. In battle, Rachel can command his to change his shape. He can appear as a spiked parasol, an elaborate sword, a simple cat-like cloak, and a small cannon from which he can fire Gii.

Personality

Nago is sassy, cheeky, and quick to savage commentary. He will always lavishly praise Rachel and remind others of her status to them, but has been known to irritate her and receive a swift beating as a punishment. Nago is near inseparable from Rachel and Gii, and has to often remind the latter to watch his language around their mistress. Unlike Gii, however, Nago is far less prone to punishment, and knows how to hold himself around her, always careful to not incur her wrath. He is also seemingly Gii's mentor, implying he has been in Rachel's service for a longer period.

It is never confirmed, but the numerous comments that Nago has dropped around Jin Kisaragi and Hakumen suggest that he is homosexual. Some of his comments towards them have landed him in trouble with Rachel.

Powers and Techniques

In combat, Nago is the main weapon that Rachel uses in combat, with Gii often serving as the shield. He can transform into a cannon, a sword, and a spiked parasol. He can grow muscular arms while in his parasol form, delivering staggering blows that can launch opponents into the air, and is even used as Rachel's Guard Crush.

Both Nago and Gii are the ones who take the damage for Rachel in combat, stopping her from receiving damage. His other forms include a traditional chair, a cloak, and a beanbag for Rachel to relax on.

Rachel's familiar, and Gii's mentor. It looks like a cat, but its true identity is unknown. He, too, can transform into anything, and uses a very feminine form of speech. Rachel treats him cruelly, but he continues to serve his master loyally.
