Gigant: Take-Mikazuchi (巨人・タケミカヅチハイランダー・タケミカヅチ Hairandā Takemikazuchi), sometimes Highlander, is the first of the Nox Nyctores class weapons. It took the form of a giant humanoid, and was sealed within a satellite orbiting the Earth. Its power was immense and was a pivotal piece of both the Dark War and Ikaruga Civil War, later being used by Takamagahara and Izanami to change the fate of the world.

The core of Take-Mikazuchi eventually fused with Nu-13, becoming her weapon as she took on her identity as Juusan.

Information

Take-Mikazuchi was created by Nine the Phantom using information she had gathered concerning the Prime Field War, Age of Origin, Magic, and Sorcery.[1] Its core was created using the souls of those killed during the Dark War.[2] During its creation, Nine came to realize that its power was too great and relented half-way through its creation. Seven, Eight, and Kazuma Kval continued to work on the Nox in secret. When the Black Beast first reappeared, Seven and Eight summoned it to attack the monster, using Celica A. Mercury as a control-method. However, Deus Machina: Nirvana saved Celica before she could be completely drained, preventing Take-Mikazuchi from becoming strong enough to destroy the Black Beast with its laser, but still with enough power to force the Black Beast to retreat.[3]

Celica was able to be used as the control system because of her natural ability to nullify seithr, which Take-Mikazuchi is mostly comprised of. Seven came to realize the tens of thousands of souls could be used to control the weapon instead. In the second battle against the Black Beast, Take-Mikazuchi was controlled with this method, but was beaten by the Beast, who had bitten down on its neck and attempted to decapitate it.[4] Take-Mikazuchi was teleported back to Ishana, but it crashed into the center, destroying most of the island's central area.

Nine decided that, after that battle, the Nox needed to be deactivated permanently. She cut its core in half while Trinity Glassfille sealed it. This half was then divided equally to become the cores for the following Nox Nyctores: Mucro Algesco: Yukianesa, Arcus Diabolus: Bolverk, Deus Machina: Nirvana, Mucro Somnio: Musashi, Interfectum Malus: Ookami, Arma Reboare: Muchourin, Geminus Anguium: Ouroboros, and the Phoenix: Rettenjo.[5] Take-Mikazuchi was not used for the rest of the war as not only were the costs of its use too high, but the Beast was likely to prioritize it and kill it.[6]

After the war had ended, the humanity sealed Take-Mikazuchi within a giant satellite above the world. The Novus Orbis Librarium used it in 2194, during the Ikaruga Civil War, to destroy the 5th Hierarchical City of Ibukido, with the event becoming known as the Burning Fields of Ikaruga. [7] Due to its immense power, Meifang Lapislazuli planned on creating a complete replica of the Nox using Bell and the No-Name Grimoire. [8] On December 31st 2199, Take-Mikazuchi was used by Takamagahara in an attempt to destroy the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi, but was blocked by the Tsukuyomi Unit, activated by Rachel Alucard. [9] The weapon was not used again until the February of 2200 where Izanami summoned it from its orbit and used it to fight against Ragna the Bloodedge, Jin Kisaragi, and Noel Vermillion - although defeated, its core was used to create the Embryo, with another version existing inside the space and being consumed by Nu-13.

Currently it resides with Nu, who has since taken the identity of Juusan. She uses it in her the Phantom Fields she travels to, and once threatened to use it against a version of Clavis Alucard before he managed to dissuade her from destroying a fictional version of Shin Kawahama City.[10]

The largest and most powerful of the Nox Nyctores, Take-Mikazuchi has the firepower to level entire Hierarchical Cities. Its primary weapon is a large laser that it fires from its mouth, but it is also capable of summoning a myriad of sharp discs that can be launched at an opponent. Another weapon includes a type of mortar that it can fire from its back. In addition to its projectiles, Take-Mikazuchi is also very physically strong, being able to punch and headbutt opponents away from its body. There is one weak-spot on the giant, however, this being its core located on its chest.

Take-Mikazuchi takes the shape of a giant humanoid with pure black skin and thick red veins running down its entire length. Its eyes are red ovals and the majority of its body is hidden within a giant green satellite.
