Interfectum Malus: Ookami
Interfectum Malus: Ookami
The Interfectum Malus: Ookami (
Created by Nine the Phantom during the Dark War to combat the Black Beast, Ookami was designed especially for Hakumen. Ookami was used to sever the many heads of the Black Beast, and was used to decapitate it once it reverted to its true form. In the aftermath of the war, the Nox had its core removed by Nine, and remained in Hakumen's possession, being with him when he threw himself into the Boundary to help seal away Yuuki Terumi. The Nox was salvaged by Kokonoe alongside Hakumen, and the legendary samurai continued to use it up until his final moments, leaving Ookami behind for a mysterious woman to use for herself.
The main function of Ookami is to nullify Ars Magus with its special blade, but its full power is allegedly yet to be seen. When wielded by Hakumen, he could use it in conjunction with the Susano'o Unit to cut through time.
The weapon is close to seven feet tall, and the silver blade is notched at the end, leaving the tip flat. The handle is brown while the small hilt is a golden color. The pommel for Ookami is thick, golden, and rounded with a large opal jewel adorning the center. Ookami's sheathe is red and has a long slit on its side, allowing for the blade to be drawn and sheathed - on both ends are golden pieces. Generally, the weapon is held with two hands thanks to its weight, and the weapon has been shown to be able to phase straight through its sheathe.

Interfectum Malus: Okami
Nox Nyctores number 6. Possessed by Hakumen.
This large war sword is longer than most men are tall. The blade is made from a special metal that can nullify Ars Magus. Ragna can't heal wounds dealt by this sword.
Interfectum is Latin for "to kill" while Malus means "bad" or "harmful". In Japanese, this part is written with the characters 斬 zan for "to slice", and 魔 ma, "magic" or "devil", or taken more loosely, "evil". Ookami can be taken to have two meanings: "wolf" (狼) or "great god" (大神). However, the characters used for Ookami are actually those for "to cry" or "to shout" (鳴) and "god" (神), and the phrase would normally be pronounced narukami, an archaism for "thunder".
Interfectum Malus: Ookami can be read as "Killing Harm: Great God", or alternately, "Cutting Evil: Wolf".
- Ookami is displayed on Hakumen's back in one of his interactions with Susano'o, but it disappears once Susano'o appears.
