The 17th Hierarchical City of Yamatsumi is a Hierarchical City created and managed by the Novus Orbis Librarium. A fictional version of it serves as the main setting of the first chapter of BlazBlue Alternative: Dark War.
Information
During the events of BBDW, Bullet subconsciously created a Phantom Field which had Yamatsumi as its central location. It was built on top of a village inhabited by mercenaries. This led to conflict between the NOL and a local resistance which opposed having their way of life disrupted. In the Phantom Field, Jin Kisaragi was supposed to become the leader of Yamatsumi, but was caught in other matters. Tsubaki Yayoi became an interim leader for the city while Hibiki Kohaku helped her.[1] Jin would later resume control of the city and the violence between the resistance and the NOL would be quelled through the actions of Rei, Raabe, and Ciel Sulfur after they destroyed the cauldron within the Phantom Field.[2]
It is unknown how the actual Yamatsumi looks, functions, and if it has a similar history.

Etymology
Yamatsumi is named after Ooyamatsumi-no-Kami, the thirteenth child of Izanagi and Izanami and a God of mountains, sea, and war.
