Strategy

Taokaka is a speed character with a great deal of mobility. She can traverse the entire length of the screen in the blink of an eye. Taokaka has some of the best mobility options in the game. She is the only character who can perform a combination of any three air mobility actions in a row, such as jumps or aerial dashes. Likewise, she also moves very quickly, so she is good for those who enjoy making a lot of input commands. It's important to keep in mind that because she can only perform three air mobility actions total, so she can only do a combination of three jumps or aerial dashes.

Her drive is called Dancing Edgde. Combining direction inputs with the D button will allow you to charge in various directions. Using ↑+D while in the air or ↓+D on the ground will also consume one air mobility action as well, so keep that in mind. After a D attack hits your opponent, Taokaka can do two different things depending on what directional inputs are made. Pressing → will cause her to leap forward, and not pressing → will cause her to leap backward. Also, while in the middle of a D attack, you can press A,B, or C for a variety of actions. The command can be inputted from the beginning of the leap until the attack connects with your opponent. All of these commands will also consume one air mobility action. Pressing A will stop you in your tracks, pressing B will make you pass through the given point, and pressing C will enable Taokaka to perform a quick hop in place.

For spacing, standing C, jumping C, and →+C are good options. The key is to make contact with the very edge of the attack. Combine the attacks mentioned above with attacks like standing D, ←+D, or jumping ↓+D, and then A or B follow-up to quickly close thr distance. When closing in on your opponent, use attacks such as crouching A, or standing B to lock them down, then follow up with attacks such as the overhead →+B, or mix in a throw to break through their guard. If the opponent is approaching you from the air, then use →+A, which has some anti-air properties, to catch them out of the air.
