Strategy

Izayoi is a character who fights using two modes. Her controls themselves are fairly simple, but considering how she plays differently in the two modes, she's a fairly deep character.

You start in normal mode at the start of a match. You should fight in normal mode at first to build Zero-Type Gauge. At mid-range, use long reaching attacks like Standing B. Connect Standing B into Standing C, and if it hits, aim to knock the opponent down with Crusade Seraphim γ. If Standing B → Standing C was guarded, use Crusade Seraphim γ → Stance Cancel (A in Stance), or follow up with Sonic Saber.

Once the Zero-Type Gauge is filled, change to Gain Art mode. Use ↘ ＋ C or Jumping C in a midair combo, and connect into various D attacks to mode change while staying on the offensive. While in Gain Art mode, use Dashing Jump attacks or land without doing anything from a dash before using Crouching A or Crouching B to shake up their guard. When at a long distance from the opponent, use Sonic Saber → D Mirage Thruster or D Sonic Saber followed by a Dash, to close the distance.

If the opponent attacks from the air, counter with Crusade Seraphim α. It travels quite fair diagonally upwards, so a key point is to use it early. If the opponent pressures you, the invulnerability from Aegis Blade is reliable. If it's guarded, follow up with a Rapid Cancel.
