Information
One of the two Nox Nyctores to be made after the Dark War, the Lux Sanctus: Murakumo were designed by Nine the Phantom and Relius Clover.[1] Its prototype was the Sealed Weapon Izayoi as they are designed as "Anti-Sankishin Core Units" (対三輝神用ユニット, Tai-Sankishin Koa Yunitto) with the purpose of being able to kill a Sankishin - to this end, Murakumo is immune to Phenomenon Intervention, being its unique trait as a Nox.[2][3] There is very little information on this Nox and what it can exactly do.[4][5] However, Murakumo Units have the ability to directly connect to the Boundary, harnessing virtually unlimited amounts of power.[6]
Murakumo is the only Nox of which two variants exist, both being constructed of the mythical alloy Hihiirokane.[7] One was owned by Nu-13 and another by Mu-12. Neither have been seen in the new world created by Ragna the Bloodedge. Lambda-11 owns an imitation Murakumo that was created by Kokonoe and is made of titanium and other light metals
Wielders
- Mu-12/Noel Vermillion - was perfected into a Kusanagi; presumed that she still owns it.
- Nu-13 - her Murakumo's status and location is unknown.
- Lambda-11 - wields an imitation of Murakumo.
Official Descriptions
BlazBlue: Central Fiction Library Entry
Lux Sanctus: Murakumo
Nox Nyctores number 10. Possessed by Nu.
It takes the form of a massive sword while on standby, but once activated, it turns into 8 blades surrounding the user. As the owner of this weapon, Nu is called a 'Murakumo Unit.' [8]
Etymology
In Latin, Lux means "light", while Sanctus means "holy". Murakumo comes from the legendary sword, Ame-no-Murakumo-no-Tsurugi, which is the original name of the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi. Literally, Murakumo means "gathering clouds," so a literal translation for the localized name of Lux Sanctus: Murakumo could be "Holy Light: Gathering Clouds".
