The Tsukuyomi Unit (ツクヨミユニット) is one of the three Sankishin, and protects time. It is the most mysterious of the Sankishin, and is able to project a large shield with impenetrable defense. Rachel Alucard is its wielder.
Information
As one of the Sankishin, Tsukuyomi has existed for an unknown amount of time before it, alongside the Amaterasu Unit and Susano'o Unit, was discovered by humanity. It was not a factor during the Prime Field War, and at some point was put inside of Rachel Alucard.[1]
Rachel has only been seeing using Tsukuyomi a handful of times. She used it to prevent the destruction of the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi on December 31, 2199 by the Nox Nyctores - Gigant: Take-Mikazuchi.[2] Tsukuyomi was used in a different manner by Rachel to transport Ragna the Bloodedge nearly a century into the past, with the shield of the Sankishin protecting him from the corrupting nature of the Boundary.[3] She later used it again to block Take-Mikazuchi from destroying Amaterasu under Izanami's orders.[4]
The appearance of Tsukuyomi is unknown, only that it projects a large shield that can withstand any attack. Nothing can penetrate the defense of this Sankishin; the incredible defensive capabilities of the unit is called the Absolute Defense .

Etymology
Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto is the Shinto deity of the moon, and the brother of Amaterasu-no-Mikoto and Susano'o-no-Mikoto. He seldom appears in any well-known mythology, but has a tale where he slaughtered the goddess of food, Uke Mochi, and deeply hurt Amaterasu because of it. This caused a rift between the siblings that ended with them never seeing each other again, creating the separation of night and day.
