Linhua is a minor character in the BlazBlue series. She's Litchi Faye-Ling's assistant in her clinic in the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi's Orient Town.

Appearance

Linhua is a young human girl with tanned skin, navy eyes, and dark hair tied into a messy bun while her bangs frame her face. She wears a white, short-sleeved changshan with blue rims and a green vine print. Over this she wears a dark blue sash with a yellow petal print, and over this, yellow ropes that tie a navy butterfly ornament to her back. Linhua also wears two golden anklet, two golden bracelets on both wrists, black tights, and navy sandals with yellow straps. Her hair is held together with a comb, a memento from her mother.

Personality

Completely loyal to Litchi and her well-being, often going out of her way to make sure she's safe. Linhua is snide and witty, often making cheap shots at Bang Shishigami for her own amusement. Because of the damage they caused her family, Linhua despises the Novus Orbis Librarium, and is reluctant to medically help them, criticising many things about them, such as how they live at the top of the Hierarchical Cities, and their attitude towards civilians. When dealing with her patients, Linhua is no nonsense, taking a calm and serious manner.

Like Litchi, Linhua gets on well with the Kaka clan, specifically Taokaka.

Biography

Linhua was born in Kagutsuchi, and lost her parents while she was still young. She was raised by foster parents, and became a medical assistant for Litchi at some point between the Ikaruga Civil War and the events of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger. She attends Orient Town's new year festivities every year, and hopes to become a doctor.

Calamity Trigger

A gentleman brought Noel Vermillion to Litchi's clinic after she was defeated by Iron Tager. Linhua went out to buy supplies, and saw Ragna the Bloodedge carrying Taokaka back to the Kaka Village. She made her way back to look after the clinic while Litchi and Noel left to go back to the Village. [1]

While she was on her own, Linhua looked after Bang after he lost to Jin Kisaragi. She took him to Dr. Han, another medical specialist, while Litchi was away.

Continuum Shift

The following day, Linhua and Litchi celebrated the new year together before the latter started to feel strange, and retreated back to the clinic. Later on, Linhua found Tager and Litchi fighting, watching as Litchi lost. Terrified and crying, Linhua approached Tager and began punching his metal hide until her fists began bleeding. On Kokonoe's orders, Tager stayed with Linhua until she calmed down. [2]

Central Fiction

It's unknown if Linhua was one of the Chosen, although it seems unlikely. Regardless, a version of her appeared inside the Embryo, fulfilling much the same role as she did in Calamity Trigger. After Mai Natsume fought Relius Clover, she and Kajun Faycott came to the clinic where Linhua helped to patch her up. [3]

Linhua is last seen in the new world Ragna created. She was running the clinic when Litchi, Kajun, and Mai dropped off a nervous Platinum the Trinity there. [4]

Powers and Techniques

Unlike a lot of the other cast in the series, Linhua has no fighting ability whatsoever, but she is a trained medic, and can take care of her patient's wounds.

Library Entry

Linhua

A young girl who lives in Orient Town. She has a candid personality and is optimistic in most situations

She lost both her parents while she was young, and was raised by foster parents. Currently, she is studying under Dr. Litchi, in hopes that one day she, too, will be able to become a doctor. Linhua makes her fair share of mistakes around the office, but is nonetheless a diligent worker.

Linhua favors comfortable clothes, and even keeps her hair short for the same reason: comfort. However, she's currently growing out her hair to be more like her favorite mentor, Litchi.

The comb that keeps her hair together is a memento from her mother. And, while she calls the Kaka clan 'savaged cats' she doesn't mean that in a negative way - if anything, cats and her get along quite nicely. [5]

Trivia

  • Linhua does not appear in BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma but is mentioned by Tager in Litchi's arcade mode as a reason for her to return to Kagutsuchi.
