Astral Heat

An Astral Heat, often shortened to Astral is a special move in the BlazBlue franchise. It is the strongest move a character can use.

Information

In the C-Series, that is BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger - BlazBlue: Central Fiction, an Astral is performed when the enemy is under 30% health, the player has 100 Heat, and the player is on match point. When these conditions are met, the player can input their character's Astral, indicated by their character's portrait flashing white. If the Astral lands then the player will win the match. In order to activate an Astral Heat in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, you must have Resonance Blaze active (Lv 4), have 9 Skill Gauges at the time of activation, and the opponent must be down to one character.

In BlazBlue Alternative: Dark War, an Astral is performed when a unit has over 300 heat. Unlike the C-Series, this does not result in an instant kill, but it will still deal large amounts of damage.

Canonically, only Jin Kisaragi and Ragna the Bloodedge have used their Astral Heats. Jin used Arctic Dungeon against Azrael during the events of Central Fiction, and against Bang Shishigami and Tenjo Amanohokosaka during the Ikaruga Civil War. Ragna used Black Onslaught against Yuuki Terumi towards the end of Central Fiction.
