Grim of Abyss Mode is a mode where you can fight waves of opponents and strengthen your characters stats with various methods.

Magic Workshop

A place where you can strengthen your selected character with items, enhancements, and grimoires.

Grimoires

Grimoires can be equipped to each character. There are a total of five different Grimoire types:

Grim of Abyss Red Grimoire.png Red Grimoire A Rank "B" Grimoire. This allows skills up to Rank B to be equipped.
Grim of Abyss Black Grimoire.png Black Grimoire A Rank "C" Grimoire. This allows skills up to Rank C to be equipped.
Grim of Abyss White Grimoire.png White Grimoire A Rank "D" Grimoire. This allows skills up to Rank D to be equipped.
Grim of Abyss Green Grimoire.png Green Grimoire A Rank "E" Grimoire. This allows skills up to Rank E to be equipped.

Stats

Grimoires have a set amount of points that can be allocated towards different stats that strengthen your character. The higher ranked grimoires have larger point ceilings for stats. There are seven different stat types:

Grim of Abyss Projectile Defense.png Projectile Defense Reduces amount of projectile damage taken.

Skills

Skills can be attached to Grimoires. They can have a max level of 10, and be ranked A, B ,C, D, or E. Skills can be extracted from grimoires; extraction gives a chance to produce a unique slot Skill, level up skills, and produce items. However, extracting skills destroys the grimoire.

Skill Name Effect
Regeneration Automatically recovers HP.
Soul Eater: Replica Upon landing an attack on an enemy, enemy hit points will be absorbed.
Saved by the Bell After 20 seconds has elapsed, the HP and Heat gauges will begin to regenerate.
Heal Burst Regenerates HP upon landing a Break Burst on the opponent.
Fired Up Increases the Heat Gauge when the match begins.
Heating Up The Heat Gauge will increase by a fixed amount.
Heat Overdrive The Heat Gauge will increase when Overdrive is activated.
Flash Guard Increases the amount of Heat Gauge generation during an Instant Block.
Golden Burst The Heat Gauge will increase when landing a Break Burst.
HP Gain Increases HP.
Damage + Increases basic attack damage.
Defense + Increases basic defense.
Physical Damage + Increases physical attack damage.
Physical Defense + Increases physical attack defense.
Projectile Damage + Increases projectile attack damage.
Projectile Defense + Increases projectile attack defense.
Increased Speed Increases speed.
Kaka Clan Secrets Vol.1 Increases the number of possible midair jumps.
Kaka Clan Secrets Vol.2 Increases the number of possible midair dashes.
Max Overdrive Increases the effective duration of Overdrives.
Accel Drive After using the Overdrive Icon, will instantly regenerate the ability.
Burst Booster Increases the rate of the Overdrive Icon regeneration.
Burst Extender Launches the opponent in the air upon landing a successful Break Burst hit.
Damage Reduction Lowers the enemy's basic attack damage.
Defense Reduction Lowers the enemy's basic defense.
Physical dmg Reduction Lowers the enemy's physical attack damage.
Physical def Reduction Lowers the enemy's physical attack defense.
Proj dmg Reduction Lowers the enemy's projectile attack damage.
Proj def Reduction Lowers the enemy's projectile attack defense.
Speed Reduction Lowers the enemy's speed.
Chilling Blow When landing an attack on the opponent, will reduce their Heat Gauge.
Confusion Lowers the opponents' AI level.
Heat Reduction The opponent's Heat Gauge will be lowered by a fixed amount.
Anti-Burst Seals the opponent's Overdrive Icon.
Anti Distortion Drive Seals the opponent's Distortion Drive.
Anti Astral Heat Seals the opponent's Astral Heat.
Absolute Defense Become immune to Guard Crushes.
Infinite Barrier No longer consumes the Barrier Gauge.
Poison Landing an attack on the opponent will poison them.
Poison Field Causes both fighters to be poisoned.
Stealth Become invisible.
Hard Grip Seals the opponent's green throw.
Untouchable Extends the window for throw escapes.
Timelord Shortens the time of a round.
Soul of the Warrior Special Attacks and Distortion Drives become physical attacks.
Soul of the Marksman Special Attacks and Distortion Drives become projectile attacks.
Increased Regeneration Increases the amount of HP regenerated after a match.
The Entertainer After a DD, OD or AH Finish, the amount of HP regenerated after a match will increase.
Stat Boost Increases all parameters / stats.
Limit Break Increases all stats while Overdrive is active.
Heat Retainer Increases all stats while Overdrive is active.
Crush Ring Reduces the amount of Heat required for a Crush Trigger.
Assault Ring Reduces the amount of Heat required for a Counter Assault.
Distortion Ring Reduces the amount of Heat required for a Distortion Drive.
Astral Ring Reduces the amount of Heat required for an Astral Heat.
Overload Increases the damage dealt by Distortion Drives.
Lucky Puncher Increases the overall amount of damage done to enemies.
Lucky Puncher EX Makes all attacks unblockable.
Wild West Both characters' attacks have a small chance to be considered Instant Attacks.
Deathmatch Both characters' damage is increased, and is unblockable.
Avenger Deals more damage to opponents when HP is low.
Berserker Increases the amount of damage dealt to opponents, however, Player's HP will automatically decrease.
Retaliator All counter hits will become Fatal Counters.
Vindicator All counter hits will become Fatal Counters.
Poison Master Increases the amount of damage dealt to opponents who are poisoned.
Slow Starter Stats will increase as the remaining time diminishes.
Giant Slayer When below 35% HP, the Heat Gauge will increase, and Overdrive Icon will regenerate a fixed amount.
The Guardian After going down 3 times, damage will increase, and the Heat Gauge will regenerate 100%.
Unwavering Will Increases damage proportionally to the number of times you've been knocked down.
Divine Cloak Reduces the amount of damage taken from Special Attacks.
Divine Guardian Reduces the amount of damage taken from Distortion Drives.
Skanda Reduces the amount of damage taken while dashing through the air.
Sacred Drive Reduces the amount of damage taken while Overdrive is activated.
Temptation Reduces the amount of damage taken from the opposite sex.
Hot Headed Fighter Reduces the amount of damage taken based on how much Heat Gauge is remaining.
Shield When blocking the opponent's projectile attacks, that amount is transferred as HP.
Cursed Touch Every time you take damage, you will simultaneously deal damage to the opponent.
Red Aura Your character will always have a red aura.
Black Aura Your character will always have a black aura.
Silver Aura Your character will always have a white aura.
Golden Aura Your character will always have a yellow aura.
Rainbow Aura Your character will always have a rainbow aura.
Heart of the Cunning Significantly decreases damage done, but will drastically increase defense.
Heart of the Fighter Significantly decreases defense, but will drastically increase damage output.
Book of the Wise Increases the amount of experience gained.
Book Collector Increases the Grimoire's proficiency.
Mazewalker Increases the rate of going deeper.
Armor Grinder Increases the amount of chip damage.
Shield Breaker Allows you to break through the opponent's guard with Special Attacks and Distortion Drives.
Glass Mirror Makes your items and stats the same as your opponent.
Air Magician Allows you to use Special Attacks and Distortion Drives while dashing or backstepping.
Active Gain Makes your character more prone to the Active Flow state.
Active Infinite Puts your character in a constant state of Active Flow.
