''BlazBlue Entropy Effect's'' main gameplay loop revolves around playing Mind Training and progressing through the story mode that takes place outside of the training. In the main hub you control a robot known as an ACER, a participant in the ACER Program, who is given tasks from various characters that involve completing challenges in Mind Training. These tasks eventually lead to the Mind Upload, a checkpoint in the ACER Program where you upload your data to the system with IO. In Mind Training, you choose one of eleven evotypes and fight several enemies and bosses while upgrading your character in preparation for the final boss battle against [[Susano'o]].

==Modes==
=== Mind Training ===
Mind Training is the main mode you'll play in ''BlazBlue Entropy Effect'' as it is where you'll get the majority of progress and rewards during play. Mind Training's difficulty can be changed before a run by adding effects that hinder your ability to clear the game such as a timer or gaining debuffs every stage. Going from 0 to 100, this number is known as the Entropy level and it increases as you add more difficulties.
A run of Mind Training consist of choosing a character, going through four Stages, each with 7-8 levels and one of two bosses at the end for each Stage for a total of 8-9 levels based on your difficulty. After defeating the fourth boss you go to the Omega Space, a Dead Cells-esque stage where you'll have the opportunity to visit a shop, fight two more bosses, and then challenge Susano'o. If at any point you die or you defeat Susano'o, you get the opportunity to save the Evotype to be used in other modes and to pass down their Legacy Skill and two [[BlazBlue Entropy Effect/Tactics|Tactics]] to another character for a new run.
Mind Training has an Online Co-Op mode as well where two players can work together to complete the training. In Co-Op mode, the two players must agree on choices for each level. When one person dies, they will be revived when the other player completes the level. The Omega Space at the end is different in Co-Op, where you'll instead be presented with several options that consist of increasing your Max MP, Max HP, Exchange Points, Shops, two random bosses, and the final boss whenever you want to challenge him.
=== Mind Challenge ===
Mind Challenge is a secondary game mode you unlock after completing Mind Upload: (getting this information). Here, you'll be presented with the list of twenty bosses excluding the final boss. The first ten bosses are in their Normal Mode, where they have less attacks and less HP. The latter ten bosses are their Hard Mode variants where they have more attacks and different attack patterns. Some bosses become drastically harder in Hard Mode such as Oread, the final available boss in Mind Challenge.
When you challenge a boss, you use one of your saved Evotypes from a previous Mind Training session to take on the boss. The only thing that's carried over are your HP pots for healing. If you lose to the boss, that saved Evotype will be unavailable to use again for any boss unless you spend AP, albeit a small amount, to use them again. When you defeat the boss, you'll unlock the next boss in the list and you'll be able to challenge the boss you defeated with any character with no consequences for losing. There is no reward for challenging these except the "Effortless" achievement when you complete all twenty bosses perfectly with at least one character.
=== Mind Trial ===
Mind Trial is another game mode you unlock after completing Mind Upload: V. This mode has you participate in a Boss Rush mode where you fight several bosses in a row until you reach the final two bosses. Once again, you'll need to use a saved Evotype from your Mind Training runs. This time however, your HP pots are not here and you'll have to collect them. Between every boss, you'll have the opportunity to choose between buffs, HP pots, Health Regen, Revives, and refilling your SP if you have an SP Skill. Mind Trial consists of 3 Phases with varying difficulty. Phase 1 consists of 4 rounds of single bosses on Hard Mode, Phase 2 consists of 3 rounds of double bosses with one of the bosses being on Hard Mode, and Phase 3 consists of 3 rounds of double bosses on Hard Mode with the final set being Oread and Nan-Fire Bite. Because of the several Hard Mode bosses and this being the only place where you fight two bosses at the same time, this can be very difficult for newer players.
Mind Trial however can be done in Co-Op mode which often trivializes the difficulty assuming even one person has a well built Evotype. Bosses will often target only one person letting the other rack up damage with minimal risk. The rewards between bosses have more rewards, encouraging Co-Op partners to choose rewards that benefit their character. You also get to choose multiple rewards meaning one person can end up getting 3-4 buffs per boss.
Mind Trial rewards the player with the respective characters Color 02, which tends to be red. These colors can then be used in Mind Training in solo and Co-Op mode to show off your ability to complete the Mind Trial.

Gameplay

BlazBlue Entropy Effect's main gameplay loop revolves around playing Mind Training and progressing through the story mode that takes place outside of the training. In the main hub you control a robot known as an ACER, a participant in the ACER Program, who is given tasks from various characters that involve completing challenges in Mind Training. These tasks eventually lead to the Mind Upload, a checkpoint in the ACER Program where you upload your data to the system with IO. In Mind Training, you choose one of eleven evotypes and fight several enemies and bosses while upgrading your character in preparation for the final boss battle against Susano'o.

Mind Training

Mind Training is the main mode you'll play in BlazBlue Entropy Effect as it is where you'll get the majority of progress and rewards during play. Mind Training's difficulty can be changed before a run by adding effects that hinder your ability to clear the game such as a timer or gaining debuffs every stage. If at any point you die or you defeat Susano'o, you get the opportunity to save the Evotype to be used in other modes and to pass down their Legacy Skill and two Tactics to another character for a new run.

Mind Training has an Online Co-Op mode as well where two players can work together to complete the training. In Co-Op mode, the two players must agree on choices for each level. When one person dies, they will be revived when the other player completes the level. Trivia

  • Characters based on Bang Shishigami's subordinates appear as enemies.
  • Slightly lower pitched voicelines from Kagura Mutsuki and Tager are used as sound effects for some of the enemy units.
