Information
The first of the Duodecim, the Mutsuki's are a respected family, even among the elite nobles. Most of their rules and traditions are unknown, but they maintain a generally healthy relationship with all other houses, not seeming to be judgemental of the Kisaragi and Yayoi families. They care about the heirs of the family, interfering in assassination attempts, such as those on Jin Kisaragi. [1] According to Jubei, the Mutsuki's have produced many strong soldiers. [2]
They have a branch family, the Kohaku's, and they specialise in the dirty work, rarely even appearing in history books. It's a long-standing tradition that members of the Kohaku family serve a Mutsuki, no matter how they feel on the situation. [3]
As the first family, the Mutsuki's are close to the Amanohokosaka clan, a bond that was strengthened with Kagura Mutsuki becoming Tenjo Amanohokosaka's personal bodyguard and pupil. They were very against the Novus Orbis Librarium under Izanami's rule, a dislike that was strengthened when they were put in charge of the remains of the 5th Hierarchical City of Ibukido after the Ikaruga Civil War. Kagura spearheaded the rebellion against Izanami to put Homura Amanohokosaka on the NOL's throne, uniting all the Duodecim to the cause.
