BlazBlue: Continuum Shift is the second game in the BlazBlue series. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II was an arcade remake that was later offered as a free update to PS3 and Xbox 360 owners of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift. BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend was an upgraded port of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift for Vita, which was also released for PS3 and Xbox 360 as a separate disc from BlazBlue: Continuum Shift.

BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is the first game in the BlazBlue series.

Story

"Several years after the end of the Second War, multiple branches of the Librarium, reputed to command a force as powerful as an entire nation’s army, were suddenly and utterly destroyed. Inexplicably, the hidden cauldrons within each branch were also completely decimated. The few survivors spoke in hushed, shaken tones of a single man who had appeared out of nowhere, cutting down all in his path.

His name was “Ragna the Bloodedge.”

He appeared to have achieved his goal upon the destruction of the NOL cauldron located in the deepest reaches of the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi. Unfortunately, his ultimate aim has yet to be fulfilled. Ragna has sensed the resurrection of one of the Six Heroes, a man by the name of Terumi, and quietly waits for the return of his true enemy…"[1]

Modes

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift

  • Tutorial - (Offline: 1P) Learn everything from the basics of 2D fighting game mechanics to the advanced and unique systems of BlazBlue.
  • Arcade - (Offline: 1-2P, No Unlimited characters) Enjoy the characters' individual stories while fighting your way through the 10 computer opponents.
  • Versus - (Offline: 1-2P, Unlimited characters permitted.) Fight against a computer or your friends.
  • Score Attack - (Offline: 1-2P, No Unlimited characters.) Fight against the computers with regulated settings and compete for the highest score. The final scores can be uploaded to he Steam server Leaderboards.
  • Unlimited Mars - (Offline: 1-2P, No Unlimited characters.) Fight against extremely intelligent computers and try to get the highest score. If you are connected to XboxLIVE/PSN/Steam, you can post your scores on the ranking boards.

  • Training - (Offline: 1-2P, Unlimited characters permitted.) Practice moves and set a variety of parameters and enemy actions.
  • Challenge - (Offline: 1P, No Unlimited characters.) Take on a variety of missions set for each character.
  • Abyss - (Offline: 1P, No Unlimited characters.) Defeat waves of enemies, strengthening your character along the way. Reach the bottom level of Kagutsuchi.
  • Story - (Offline: 1P) Enjoy an even more in-depth story of the BlazBlue universe.
  • Gallery - (Offline: 1P) Listen to music, watch videos, view pictures, or enjoy the voice acting here.
  • Network - (Online: 1-6P) Connect to Xbox LIVE/PSN/Steam and battle other players via the Network.
  • Xbox LIVE/PSN/Steam Marketplace - (Online:1P) Here you can purchase or get information on the latest and greatest BlazBlue DLC.
    • Contents Market in the JP version and in the description title.
  • Option - Adjust a variety of the game's settings.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend

  • adds Replay Theater - (Offline: 1P) Manage and playback replay data you have downloaded or recorded.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II

  • lacks Contents Market and Replay Theater
  • replaces Unlimited Mars with Legion 1.5 - (No Unlimited characters) Raise your own army to fight several army forces and conquer the entire map.
