Overview
Kokonoe, a Mad Scientist who has too much time on her hands. She controls every inch of the screen with her many Armaments. Whether it be lasers, missiles, elemental attacks, or explosions, nowhere is safe from Kokonoe's machines. If you like not allowing anyone to see because of screen clutter while suffocating enemies with high damage, Kokonoe is your character to play. Her diverse set of Armaments will bring you all the way to the end.
Prototype Abilities
Talent: Ace Hunter
When your killstreak is at 10 or higher, your skill does 90% more damage. The killstreak counter can be seen on the bottom left of the screen with a skull icon representing it. A very easy Talent to maintain for a decent increase in your Skills' damage. Killstreaks are determined by how many enemies you've killed without taking damage. Any enemy attack and most traps will restart your killstreak and combo counter. As long as you've killed 10 enemies without being hit before encountering a Boss, you can save the +90% increase to Skills for said boss.
Unique Mechanics:
Components: After unlocking Kokonoe's "Universal Enhancement: Armaments leave behind components", most of her actions will leave a broken machine lying on the ground. Components can be detonated manually at any time, or left on the field for interactions with Armament No.5: "Banishing Rays" and her second Universal Enhancement. Component Detonations might feel weak at first, but as you pick up Universal Enhancements and Hidden effects that upgrade them, they become extremely powerful.
When using Armament No.5: "Banishing Rays" near Components, additional lasers will spawn from them. This leads to Kokonoe being able to setup several Components before or on the fly that will exponentially raise her damage after using a Banishing Ray. Stacking several Components while waiting for the many Bosses is one of the easiest ways to get an insane amount of damage within the first several seconds of a boss fight. Big body bosses such as the Defiling Eye or Tree of Origin are especially susceptible to Components and Banishing Rays as it becomes even easier to hit them multiple times while being less precise.
The second upgrade of Kokonoe's Universal Enhancements will make it so that when 3 Components are placed in triangle, energy beams will spawn between them. These beams will deal constant damage to enemies and are incredibly easy to set-up. Whether it be a component placed on a platform above 2 on the ground, or using Armament No.2: "Broken Bunker Assault v3.13" to place a Component on the roof, these energy beams will show up constantly to assist Kokonoe's damage.
Unique Dash: Kokonoe's Dash is unlike any other Prototypes' in the game. Kokonoe will perform a quick dash forward and then ride her scooter as long as you hold Dash. This dash initially has an extremely small amount of Dodge Frames, leading to her Dash feeling very bad at avoiding damage. Luckily, when "Planar Haze v3.09" is unlocked, Kokonoe's initial Dash instead becomes a teleport that travels a short distance in the direction you're holding. This Dash has Dash Invulnerability frames while Kokonoe is invisible. The downside of this teleport is that it can feel incredibly clunky. It can only be cancelled with her Dash Attack or another Dash, meaning you have several frames of "lag" after teleporting where you cannot use any other actions. This limitation can feel restrictive, but overcoming it is invaluable for Kokonoe as her kit is among the best.
Legacy Skill 1: Armament No.8EE "Meteor Carpet Storm vE.24"
Launches 5 tracking missiles. The number of missiles increases with each level. Very self explanatory. 5 missiles will spawn above your Prototype that target the nearest set of enemies.
Legacy Skill 2: Armament No.6β "Planar Haze v1.00"
Opens a portal to warp your Prototype in the direction you're holding. The distance of the teleport increases with each level. A carbon copy of Kokonoe's "Planar Haze v3.09", this Legacy gives you an extra dash with a large amount of Dash Invulnerability frames.
Potentials
[Ground] Attack: A 3 hit combo that shoots forward small water droplets, then a short wave of sparks, then a barrage of missiles. Holding Attack will continue to shoot the water projectiles for a couple of seconds.
- The 2nd attack now fires small missiles and the 3rd shoots large missiles.
- The water projectiles are now ice spikes that slow enemies down.
- While using this combo, Kokonoe has Super Armor.
Hidden Effects
- (Attack: More Missiles, Armament No.11.1: More Missiles, and Universal Enhancement: Components): The Missiles from Kokonoe's Attack now cause much larger explosions and deal more damage.
- (Attack: More Missiles, Armament No.11.1: More Missiles, and Universal Enhancement: Components): The Ice from from the 1st hit of Kokonoe's combo are larger and deal more damage.
Jump: Default is two jumps.
- [Airborne] Attack: Kokonoe spins in the air, spewing fire out in a circle around her.
- Kokonoe's aerial attack now sends out "Splashes".
- Kokonoe's [Airborne] Attack now attacks with ice, which slows enemies.
- The "Splashes" deal more damage and break Super Armor.
- Kokonoe can now triple jump. When she gets hit, she can jump to recover immediately and become invincible for 1 second. Additionally, her [Airborne] Attack and Dash Attack no longer have a usage limit.
Dash: Performs a different type of dash depending on whether Kokonoe is Airborne or on the Ground.
- [Ground] Dash: Kokonoe dashes forward on her scooter. Holding Dash will cause her to continue to ride the scooter until you let go. She is only invincible during the very beginning of the Dash.
- [Airborne] Dash: Kokonoe dashes forward on her rockets. She is only invulnerable during beginning of the Airborne Dash.
- Dash > Attack: Kokonoe jumps forward and spews fire out around her in the air.
- "Planar Haze v3.09": Dash: Kokonoe now teleports forward up to 3 times before getting on her scooter. The entire teleport duration is invincible.
- Holding a Up, Down, Left, or Right will change the direction she teleports.
Hidden Effects
- (Jump: Generate "Splashes"): "Planar Haze v3.09" now generates "Splashes" as well.
"Furious Decimator Avalanche v2.19" [Ground] Skill: Fires multiple missiles that fly forward. MP:100
- [Airborne] Skill: Fires multiple missiles toward the ground that fly straight when hitting the ground. MP:100 Not listed in game; Not affected by Potentials listed below.
- There are double the number of missiles and they can break Super Armor.
- Kokonoe can jump or dash after casting the Grounded version, which will leave a clone that continues the move.
- Knocks back enemies that near Kokonoe when using her Armament No.11.1.
- Armament No.11.1 now additionally fires lasers with the rockets.
Hidden Effects
- (Attack: More Missiles, Armament No.11.1: More Missiles, and Universal Enhancement: Components): Armament No.11.1 now fires even larger missiles that deal more damage.
"Broken Bunker Assault v3.13" [Ground] Up + Attack: Runs slightly forward and hits the opponent with an uppercut. Pressing Attack again will do a straight punch.
- Both punches will fire rocket that launches the opponent.
- When a rocket reaches its highest point, it explodes and then summons a small laser beam from the roof.
- When rockets explode, they send out the "Splashes".
- Hold Attack to dash farther and bring enemies with Kokonoe toward the end of her dash before uppercutting them.
Hidden Effects
- (Attack: More Missiles, Armament No.11.1: More Missiles, and Universal Enhancement: Components): The rockets from Armament No.2 cause larger explosions and deal more damage.
- (Armament No.2: Rockets with Punches and Armament No.5: Banishing Rays spawn from Components): The Rockets from Armament No.2 now spawn Banishing Rays.
"Banishing Rays v7.10" [Ground] Down + Skill: Kokonoe places a Banishing Ray, which shoots lasers periodically and discharges electricity near it. MP:35
- Costs less MP.
- When setting up a Banishing Rays, existing Components will fire lasers as well.
Hidden Effects
(Universal Enhancement: Components): Banishing Rays also count as Components."Heaven's Judgement vE.83" Up + Skill: Summons a giant laser pillar that creeps forward slowly. MP:100

"Meteor Carpet Storm vE.24" [Ground] Hold Action: Summons multiple missiles that rains down from the sky for several seconds. SP:100

- (Armament No.11.1: More Missiles): Armament No.8EE now fires double the amount of missiles.
- (Armament No.11.1: Knocks enemies back): Armament No.8EE now knocks enemies away and stuns them.
- (Attack: More Missiles, Armament No.11.1: More Missiles, and Universal Enhancement: Components): Armament No.8EE's rockets cause larger explosions and deal more damage.
Armaments that Kokonoe use will leave behind Components.
- Down + Attack: Detonates all existing Components.
- When Components are left behind in a triangular shape, they spawn Energy Beams between the 3 of them.
- More Components can be spawned.
- Components last longer and leave a carpet of flames when detonated.
- Detonating Components deal more damage when hitting enemies slowed by ice attacks.
Hidden Effects
- (Attack: More Missiles and Armament No.11.1: More Missiles): All explosions from Compenents are larger and deal more damage.
- (Universal Enhancement: Energy Beams between Components and More Components): When Components form a rectangle, they spawn Energy Beams between the 4 of them.
- (Universal Enhancement: More Components and Components last longer): Even more Components can be spawned and they last even longer.
- (Universal Enhancement: Energy Beams between Components, More Components, and Components last longer): Energy Beams can connect from any shape; Detonations and flames deal even more damage.
