The Fluctus Redactum: Ignis is a Detonator created by Relius Clover that takes the form of a large crimson doll. It based off of the Nox Nyctores - Deus Machina: Nirvana. Its identity is that of Ignis Clover.

Information

Ignis is the ultimate fruit of Relius Clover's research, created during the Ikaruga Civil War and based off the Deus Machina: Nirvana. It was designed with the intent of being better than Nirvana. Like the Nox Nyctores, Ignis is powered by a core comprised of many souls, namely those of Novus Orbis Librarium and Sector Seven troops, and the core itself was created by Kokonoe (although against her will). The main identity of this core is Ignis Clover, Relius' wife. [1] The Ex Machina: Minerva was based on the blueprints left behind on Ignis and Nirvana by Relius and Nine the Phantom, respectively. [2] Using Ignis as a transportation device through the Boundary, Relius escaped the BlazBlue possibility. It is unknown where the weapon and it's owner currently are. [3]

In combat, Ignis' claws are its main purpose of fighting, and are launched quick enough to reach Rachel Alucard but lack the strength needed to match Valkenhayn R. Hellsing. [4] When paired with Nirvana, they form a duo that is highly difficult to defeat. [5] Like Minerva, Ignis' body can transform, with her arms being able to turn into drills and her 'ears' opening up to reveal various weapons.

The doll is 209cm in height with a large red dress and distinctly feminine appearance. Its gray face has piercing blue eyes with a singular crack over the left one - its face is framed with blonde hair and on top rests a round hat with an 'X' on the front. There are two rings piercing this hat and two large 'ears' come off it, dangling to the ground and filled with various weaponry. Ignis' arms have large rings around the shoulders and her hands are sharp blades.

Unlike the Nox's, Ignis does not seem to have any adverse effects on its wielder's mentality, and unlike Nirvana, Ignis has yet to be seen defying her master's will. However, there have been times where it has demonstrated curiosity and independence. [6]

The crimson puppet created by Relius. It is also known as the Detonator, and is built from his very own wife. [7]

Etymology

"Fluctus" means "Wave" or "Billow" in Latin and is used in English to describe an area covered in outflow from a volcano. "Redactum" is the singular of "Redactus" which means "Driven back" or "Received". "Ignis" is "Fire" in Latin and the weapon likely receives its name from Ignis Clover, the soul which inhabits the weapon and Relius' wife. The localized name for Fluctus Redactum: Ignis can mean "Wave Driven Back: Fire".
