Several of her abilities are references to swords and abilities from retro games.
- 霞二段 (Kasumi Nidan) comes from 霞二段斬り (Kasumi Ni Dan Giri / Cutting Through the Mist in Two Steps) from the Romancing Saga games.
- 鷹の眼光 (Taka no Gankou) comes from 大鷲の眼光(Oowashi no Gankou) from Ragnarok Online.
- 漆黒の剣 is the name of the sword Cecil Harvey uses in FFIV and FFIV: The After Years. He is initially a Dark Knight that attacks with a shadowy blade.
Other ability translation notes:
- 心刀合一 (Shintō Goitsu) is normally written as 心刃合一, (Shinba Goitsu), The change in kanji is likely to make a pun with the homophone 神道合一 (Shintō Goitsu) "Together with the Path of the Gods", likely to be a reference to either her lineage or the Shintō-Munen-ryū school of katana training.
- 藤霞 (Fujigasumi) as Wisterian Haze - Fujigasumi is Japanese term meaning "When wisteria is blooming so thickly that it looks like an indistinguishable haze."
- 霊魂(Reikon) as Ātman Attā - Another Buddhist term, meaning Soul-Self, which fits more with the distinction of 霊魂 vs 霊 or 魂 on their own, as well as from 心 and 気, also used individually in her profile.
