Notes
- Meikyō is the first half of a idiom rooted deeply in the core of Bushido- Meikyoushisui (A mirror that cannot fog, and perfectly still water), commonly translated as Pure and Serene.
- Kongō, or the Vajra, is a unbreakable substance, commonly depicted as both a diamond or a thunderbolt in Buddhist art and symbology.
- Kongorikishi are the Niō, or Two Kings, that guard the gates at temples, and represent the use of force to overcome evil and hold it at bay.
