BlazBlue Alternative: Dark War

Rei (レイ) is the protagonist of BlazBlue Alternative: Dark War, representing the player. They are a member of the Mitsurugi Agency and are protected by Ciel Sulfur. Together, they dive into Phantom Fields with Raabe in order to free the Observer trapped within them.

Rei's sex and personal details, such as their birthday and name, is determined by the player and can be changed at their discretion.

Appearance

The male version of Rei is a young man with short black hair with a single ahoge, blue eyes, and pale skin. He is dressed in the male school uniform of the Mage's Guild. This attire includes a smart white shirt with golden hemming and large cuffs. He wears a short black cape with two metal pauldrons on either side. He wears white gloves, black trousers held by a brown belt, and brown shoes with metal toecaps.

The female version of Rei is a young woman with black hair styled into a bob with two ahoge, blue eyes, and pale skin. She is dressed in the female school uniform of the Mage's Guild. This attire includes a smart white shirt with golden hemming and large cuffs. She wears a short black cape with two metal pauldrons on either side. She wears white gloves, a black skirt, black tights, and brown shoes with metal toecaps.

Personality

The personality of Rei is largely determined by the dialogue choices that the player makes.

Powers and Abilities

Rei is in possession of a Drive known as End Gazer, which grants them the ability to Observe regardless of circumstance. This power of Observation is stronger than that of the Observer within their respective Phantom Field. Rei's Observation even allows them to Observe the Chrono Phantasma (Those Who Should Not Exist), who cannot normally be Observed by even the Amaterasu Unit. Through this Observation, they are able embody the existence of the Chrono Phantasma taken aboard the Dimensional Boundary Submersible Warship Fugaku.
