A towel is a cloth, often rectangular or square in size, meant for drying or wiping off a surface. The thread count of a towel determines its absorbancy, and is often counted in denier (D). Towels can be made from a variety of fibers, including cotton, wool, and synthetic blends.

A microfiber towel, also known as a microfiber cloth, is a towel or cloth woven from threads that are finer than one dernier. Microfiber cloth is usually made from polyester or a polyester blend.
