Biography
Underneath her maternal and kind figure, Litchi is haunted by her time in Sector Seven and her inability to save Lotte "Roy" Carmine from his fall into the Boundary. For a long time, she was under the impression that he had become Arakune, not knowing that the creature was preventing the man's soul from corrupting. To save him, Litchi abandoned her lucrative position at Sector Seven and chose to live in Kagutsuchi, a city known for its criminal activities. The wounds she tends to concerning the Kaka are mainly caused by Arakune's activity in the area, only making her guilt increase. To save him, she would do anything, including seeking out the Azure and Azure Grimoire. Her attachment to Roy is heavily implied to be romantic; Litchi, however, is seemingly oblivious to the advances of Bang Shishigami.

Borderline, The Diary, Collisions
In 2193, Litchi joined Sector Seven to be the apprentice of Kokonoe. On her first day she met Roy while she was lost and the two formed a quick friendship as they learned they would be working together. This friendship would deepen as she taught him Chinese herbalism and medicine, while he taught her alchemy. She would also come to be close friends with Iron Tager while excelling in her research under Kokonoe's tutelage and Litchi soon developed the liquid theory of seithr, a theorem lauded by Kokonoe. In time, she saw the relationship between her tutor and Roy start to stretch thin as he was being corrupted by the Boundary in his pursuit of knowledge.

Variable Heart
There is a darker side to Litchi, which mainly stems from her dedication to Roy. She willingly joined Relius Clover in order to reset the world just to save Roy, even though she was fighting with someone she hates. Litchi has a complicated relationship with Kokonoe, her former mentor, as the two do not sometimes see eye-to-eye; this is mainly because of Litchi's disdain with Kokonoe's hubris and questionable scientific ethic. Owing to her former profession as a scientist, Litchi is much smarter than she will often let others know, and is knowledgeable in the world around her, particularly seithr and theories surrounding it and the Boundary.
With Kokonoe, Litchi travelled to the 11th Hierarchical City of Shinatsu, entering the Hazuki estate. There, she met Houichirou Hazuki, Mai Natsume, Kajun Faycott, Taro Sasaga'e, Bell, and Shiori Kirihito. After everyone, bar Houichirou, agreed to join Kokonoe, they travelled to the cauldron of the city where Litchi explained that Meifang Lapislazuli had begun opening facilities closed after the civil war and was likely planning to smelt something. They were soon interrupted by a group of Fuzzy, who kidnapped Bell, and Kokonoe teleported Tager to their location where they fought the vampires off. Overwhelmed by their numbers, the group was only saved from the numerous vampires when they began to crumble into dust. Kokonoe ordered Litchi and Tager to assist her in teleporting Shiori, Taro, and Kajun to Mai's location so she could defeat Meifang.

Calamity Trigger
In her free time, Litchi plays mahjong, becoming something of a local legend as she remains undefeated by any Orient Town residents. This streak earned her the moniker "Mahjong Empress". After drinking too much alcohol, her favourite being shochu liquor, Litchi's behaviour changes to become sleazy and perverted; she does not seem to drink much for this to happen.

Though her professions as a doctor and scientist would suggest that Litchi is not suited for combat, she can hold her own in a fight. In battle, she switches between her fists and her staff, Mantenbo. Litchi's acrobatic ability is unmatched, being able to effortlessly somersault across a battlefield and jump onto Mantenbo while demonstrating exceptional balance and martial prowess. To keep up with other powerful entities and individuals, Litchi uses Lao Jiu to directly stream power from the Boundary, seemingly amplifying her Ars Magus.

Early in 2199, Litchi learned that Arakune had appeared in the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi. She moved to the city and founded a clinic in Orient Town, one of the city's many districts. There, she took on a pupil, Linhua, and became close friends with the Kaka clan, who's kittens were being eaten by Arakune. During this time, she also became good friends with Totokaka, the leader of the Kaka, Taokaka, their guardian, and Bang Shishigami, the leader of the surviving Ikarugan ninja. In the space of a year, Litchi became a well loved figure within her local community, although she lost contact with Kokonoe and Tager. She also began conducting research for Totokaka on the reproductive rates of the Kaka, but the results were not positive.
In gameplay, Litchi's Drive is Mantenbo, which allows her to switch stances between using Mantenbo and her fists. Each has their own benefits with the staff stance giving her longer reach while her other stance gives her more combo potential and overall moves at the cost of shorter reach. When activated in her staff stance, Litchi plants Mantenbo in the ground, and activating it again will swing the staff as a weak projectile.

In the late December of 2199, Litchi visited Lost Town, but noticed the presence of Ragna the Bloodedge, who had been there earlier. Following the directions of Totokaka, Litchi ran towards the sewers, believing that Arakune would find Ragna because of his Azure Grimoire. Her suspicions proved to be true, and she found the Grim Reaper standing over the defeated monster. She pleaded with Ragna, allowing Arakune time to escape, and continued to explain her and his situation to the criminal, who warned her about getting close to the Boundary with Lao Jiu. She thanked him for his concern, but told him of her continued resolve. Later that evening, she tended to the wounds of Bang, which were caused by Jin Kisaragi.
Outside of combat, Litchi is medically trained, being able to use both traditional medicine and Ars Magus, although she prefers administrating the former. Her knowledge on traditional herbal remedies and their usage helped with her acceptance into Sector Seven, and she is no stranger to the usage of alchemy as she was taught some of it by Roy. Litchi's most impressive scientific feat, however, is her liquid theory of seithr, a theory which could ultimately lead to the creation of a Black Beast or Nox Nyctores; this has been applauded by both Relius and Kokonoe, who see it as her magnum opus. In her quest to save Roy, Litchi became an Observer, but her abilities as one are weak, meaning that she has to amplify her ability using both machinery and an Overdrive.

Continuum Shift
Ultimately, Litchi is not as strong as others in the cast, having lost to Makoto Nanaya and Bang in battle. By herself, Litchi was not able to qualify as one of the chosen and only managed to become one thanks to Lao Jiu, the latter of which is slowly killing her each time she chooses to employ the power of the Boundary. The more Litchi continues to use Lao Jiu's power, the closer she leans to becoming like Arakune.

Although taken inside the Embryo, Litchi did not become one of the chosen. Her memories were still altered, however. Upon hearing from Linhua that Tager was in Kagutsuchi, she closed the clinic early, going to find the Red Devil by herself. She succeeded, and began asking if he was looking for Arakune, being happy when he answered no. She returned to the clinic late at night until she heard knocking at the clinic door – answering it, she found Bang with an amnesiac Ragna who was seriously injured. She sent Bang shopping for supplies and introduced Linhua to the Grim Reaper the following morning. She knew immediately who he was, and warned him that if he were to stray too far into public, he would be captured by the NOL. Tao suddenly appeared and offered to hide him the Kaka Village, so Litchi relented and allowed it, but only under the condition that she accompany him, leaving Linhua in charge of the clinic.
Formerly a member of Sector Seven's research team, she was also Kokonoe's apprentice.

At the Kaka Village, Litchi further tended to Ragna’s wounds, and awoke some memories. She went to talk for the elder, allowing him some rest; later, she was playing with the kittens, and went outside to distract Noel when she heard from Bang that the NOL lieutenant was surveying the entrance. She was very nearly successful until Bang blew her cover by announcing that the Grim Reaper had ran away from the house he was in. She quickly ran towards the sewers where Ragna was heading, with both Bang and Noel hot on her tail. She found Arakune on the verge of being killed by the Grim Reaper, and stopped him, begging that he be spared – Noel was unconscious on the ground, and Litchi suggested, rather brutally, that Ragna kill her, or all their lives could be in danger.

Litchi tended to Noel when Ragna left, and was found by Tsubaki, who immediately demanded why her friend was in such a state. She stopped Bang from attacking the soldier and allowed Tsubaki to take Noel to the surface where she could be treated She later found Arakune and he attacked her, eventually relenting when he realised she channels the power of the Boundary. This attack revoked some of Litchi’s memories on how Arakune came to exist. She was later transported to Ikaruga by Nine the Phantom and told to defeat Izanami to claim her piece of the Azure

Because of Lao Jiu’s connection to the Boundary, Litchi was retrieving her memories more rapidly than others. She met Relius, and he stirred several memories before warning her that her body will deteriorate if she pursues Arakune. Litchi travelled to Akitsu and came to its cauldron, her memories now back to her. She realised that Arakune was merely a vessel created by Roy, and that his soul was still inside the Boundary – she planned on reactivating the cauldron to retrieve it but was stopped by Tager who reminded her of those who would mourn should she fail. Litchi stopped to consider her options. In a possibility created by Phenomenon Intervention, Litchi’s desire was devoured by Ragna.

Back in Kagutsuchi, Litchi searched for Arakune, determined to end it once and for all by saving Roy. Bang and Tao found her, and they travelled together through the sewers to find the monster, but once they did, his strength had increased massively. Tao briefly battled him, and Litchi stepped in to finish the job herself; Arakune began rapidly absorbing the seithr in the air, attempting to become a Black Beast, and swallowed her whole. Inside the Boundary, she met Roy’s soul and they were finally reunited. He refused to return, having obtained a position to research endlessly within the Boundary himself. As the Embryo entered the phase of deconstructing everything to seithr, he asked Litchi to return to Embryo and to kill Arakune, as that was his desire. Crying, Litchi resolved to complete his wish, but was knocked out by Bang, who killed Arakune instead, unwilling to let Litchi sully her hands murdering the man she loved. She soon dissolved into seithr, her data backed up by Es.

In the new world created by Ragna, Litchi, with Mai and Kajun, took Platinum to her clinic in Orient Town. The circumstances surrounding this are unknown, but it is presumed that Litchi took Platinum into her care, finally moving on in her life.

Doctor Litchi Faye-Ling (ライチ=フェイ=リン) is a revered medical practitioner in the district of Orient Town, in the 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi. She formerly worked with Kokonoe under Sector Seven, and had been hunting down Arakune after its appearance, desperate to save Lotte Carmine. Litchi is well known in Kagutsuchi, becoming close to the Kaka and her assistant, Linhua.

Litchi is one of the original twelve playable characters who debuted in BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger. She is also the host of the Teach Me, Miss Litchi! miniseries in the main games.

Appearance

Litchi is a tall, houglass-shape Asian woman with purple eyes, black semi-rimless framed glasses, and very long black hair that is often in various updos all notably including her pet panda Lao Jiu. There are multiple jokes throughout the series at her expense about her large breasts.

Litchi has three main outfits she's seen in throughout the series. the first being what she wears in combat: A stylish red and gold dress with long black sleeves that's unbuttoned at her chest area, showing her black bra. Along with the dress she wears white and red heeled boots. The second outfit she is shown in is her doctor uniform, where she's wearing a red dress with white sleeves and a yin-yang brooch, along with white shoes with gold accents. Lastly while she worked at sector seven she wore a red dress a little bit similar to her combat dress with a white labcoat and at this time her glasses were red.

Personality

Lacking a hidden side, one who is loved by everyone. Knowledgeable and familiar with the martial arts. Although normally very kind and feminine, alcohol causes her to act like a middle-aged man.[1][2]

Outwardly warm and caring towards any of her patients and friends. Litchi is honest and straightforward, getting straight to the points of subjects but has been known to teeter around one depending on its sensitivity. It is her affable personality that has led to her warm reception in Orient Town and Lost Town, being one of the few humans who is openly loved by the Kaka. To this end, her willingness to help residents of both districts has made her a beloved figure who is admired by Linhua and Taokaka - Linhua's admiration is so strong that she wants to become a doctor like Litchi and has even begun growing her hair out to imitate her.[3]

Underneath her maternal and kind figure, Litchi is haunted by her time in Sector Seven and her inability to save Lotte "Roy" Carmine from his fall into the Boundary. The more Litchi continues to use Lao Jiu's power, the closer she leans to becoming like Arakune.
