First click "Upload file" on the navigation bar under the Tools header, or navigate to https://blazblue.wiki/wiki/Special:UploadWizard.
Upload
You can upload up to 50 files at once. If you try to upload more, a popup will prevent you from moving on.
Release Rights
Source
- Copy/paste the url of the source.
- Put the name of the game (eg BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle).
- Combine them, if necessary:
[url Name of the Game]
.
This will be copied across all files that you'd uploaded in this batch. (All the files will be listed with the same source unless you select the last option, to define them separately for each file).
Author(s)
- Usually, this is just
Arc System Works
. - For BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, it is instead
* Atlus * Arc System Works * French Bread * Rooster Teeth
Now tell us why you are sure you have the right to publish this work
- Select "Another reason not mentioned above."
- Type in
{{Fair Use}}
into the text box that appears.
- You can click the Preview button to see what the Fair Use template looks like.
Describe
On the next page, you can edit the attributes for each individual file, or copy/paste parts of what you've filled in for the first file to all of the other files in this batch of uploads (but only if you've chosen to upload multiple files at once).
- The description box has a dropdown for languages, but you only have to fill it in for English.
- The date can be selected from the calendar that pops up when you click the textbox, or you can type it in manually in the YYYY-MM-DD format. Some images will have the date and time auto-populated in this box, in which case you don't have to touch it.
Categories
For categories, fill them in from the following categories. The box will autocomplete for you, but be sure to pick the right one.
<tab collapsed openname="Ask If You're Not Sure :)" style="width:100%; font-weight:bold;" container="font-style:default; font-weight:normal;"> If it's official media (ripped from one of the games), tag it with one of these:
► Animations ► Backgrounds ► Sprites ► Chibi ► Crests ► Icons ► Main Artwork ► Portraits ► Trophies ► Arcade Mode ► Story (as in "Story [Mode]")
If it's from official media (e.g. a game), but is user produced (i.e. wasn't ripped):
► Screenshots ► User Scans
If it's official art from a published source (manga, novel, short story):
► Manga Illustrations ► Novel Illustrations ► Short Story Illustrations
If it's official art, but from another source (e.g. the official artbooks or social media) or has a different purpose:
► Birthday Art ► Early Designs ► Model Sheets ► Storyboards ► Pre-order Bonuses ► Promotional Artwork ► Special Artwork ► Staff Extras ► Stickers ► Wallpapers
</tab>
There are also categories describing the artist of the illustration, characters, locations, and weapons that show up in the illustration, the source of the illustration, and what type of merchandise it is (if any). Please fill these in as well, if relevant.
- For artists, pick the tag that is in the format
Last Name, First Name
. If the artist's name comes up, but doesn't have a comma in it, try flipping the names; you could have pulled up aFirstname Lastname
redirect.
You can reference the following categories for the official names of artists, characters, locations, etc. being used for each category.
- Media by Artist
- Media by Character
- Media by Location
- Media by Source
- Media by Weapon
- Media of Merchandise
There are also categories not listed under any of the above, but are still valid categories to tag images with (unlisted due to not being exactly a character, location, or weapon).
► Tsukuyomi Unit
There are also categories that are being used which don't have pages yet. These can be used as well, but sometimes Upload Wizard's autocomplete can get in the way, and it will also give a warning when submitting the form, asking to double-check if the form has been filled out correctly. Feel free to ask what to do in this case. Those red-linked categories can be found here, sorted by number of pages included in the category:
Add Location And More Information
Below the Categories box, click the > Add location and more information... option to reveal an extra textbox.
Captions
In this textbox, write:
{{#set:Caption=YOUR CAPTION HERE}}
Replacing YOUR CAPTION HERE with your actual caption. The caption has to be all on one line (use <br/> to insert line breaks). The general convention for images on this wiki is:
"Translated text in the picture, if any."<br/>Year. "Title of the work, if any" FirstName LastName. ''Caption or additional text provided by the illustrator when the picture was published.''
Blue Radio
For tagging Blue Radio images, write in the box (possibly on another line from the caption):
{{Information Blue Radio|season|episode}}
The season is the number of the season, episode is the number of the episode. For the details of which season is what number, reference the page for Template:Information Blue Radio.
